Twitter sends some of the best traffic...

In terms of pages/visit, time on site and bounce rate my best traffic comes from (Top 10 from best to worst):

- Twitter
- People who enter my blog domain in their browser while visiting one of my landing pages
- Windows Live
- Yahoo
- Direct Traffic
- Blogcatalog
- Mybloglog
- Links in Testimonials
- Warrior Forum
- Google

The worst traffic of all is people who click links in online email accounts like Yahoo.

In terms of visits Google and Direct traffic are the top sources.

Looks like I need to sort out the SEO on my blog to get better traffic from Google...

It's not about the amount of traffic Twitter sends, it's the quality of the traffic that got my attention. Visitors from Twitter read more blog posts and spend the most time on the blog.

      Hi Roger,

LOL - I've noticed that too...

I've noticed an improvement in the quality of traffic from Web2.0 sites after I started to use a consistent profile (including my pic).

I don't know of any Twitter trackers, I just use google analytics - it has enough features to keep me occupied for the time being.

bit.ly, a simple url shortener - it's a link shrinking tool but you can also create a free account and use it to track traffic. Also Short URLs with analytics, social media monitoring, and geotargeting - Cligs

I've noticed that I get a lot of click throughs from BlogCatalog too. Seems to me though, that many people on there use some very strange images for their profiles! Some pictures of girls in bikinis, even though their profile lists them as male!!

    Hi colin

I totally agree i get 300 hits a day on my website just from it being the link in my profile on twitter it is amazing the targeted traffic it creates.

I would say second for me is from search engine terms in google that have been generated from my opt-in pages and my blog posts.

      Hi Sam,

It was your ebook which got me interested in how effective Twitter is at sending quality traffic - but I haven't implemented all your advice yet...

Twitter seems to take a lot of time up. You need to constantly participate using it, and all you can ever send is 140 characters.

I think forums are better, however, never have been able to get right into the twitter thing a lot.
