Would you do this if it made you a lot of money?

Would you use a platform that could potentially bring you a lot of traffic and earn you a bunch of money, but required that used a platform other than Clickbank (or whatever your used to) to sell your products?

I ask because I want to figure out how apprehensive (if at all) most marketers are about switching from something they're already familiar with.

I wouldn't mind, but I could be in the minority .

You have to do your due diligence on any new venture. Didn't you investigate CB before you signed up? I sure did.

Yeah I've been using Clickbank for a while, but I was wondering how people felt about using platforms that they weren't as familiar with.

If the platform looked good, it was reputable and had a lot of positive reviews and testimonials then I'd probably give it a shot. If it were brand new then I'd wait some time to see more reviews about it but if it was a good platform, then why not?

If I ever hear about any good network that I am not familiar with, I will ask people already using it, I will look for the reviews and I will not try it untill I am satisfied.

I test them out for myself. Opinions are like belly buttons, everyone's got one and they're pretty much useless.

If it was new, would the fact that it was completely free make any difference on how long you waited to try it?

Sounds like you're not looking at such a network. Sounds more like you are launching it...

Maybe it has something to do with being on the net since the mid 90s, but I've become incredibly leery of new platforms. They remind me of fireworks, with a loud noise announcing their arrival, a flashy but short existence and a shower of ashes soon after.

Heck, I didn't even sign on with Clickbank for a few years after they started.

There probably were a lot of failed platforms that where overhyped to begin with, but I've also seen a lot of great ones recently Mint, Quora, Kickstarter, and Stripe come to mind. I tried all of them without knowing very much about them to begin with.

List of affiliate sites I am with.
    Affiliate Base
    Avangate
    Commission Junction
    Kolimbo
    Amazon
    Google
    Ebay
    5 star affiliates
    clickbank
    Linkshare
    Peerfly
    jvzoo
    warriorplus

There are many more but that is enough. I use them all as of now. I may not do anything new with some but all sites that have been built are still up even though I have no interest in a few any longer.

So I would have no problem at all using another service.

Eventually in your marketing career you are going to need to move on and to new affiliate networks to grow your business.

It's inevitable and actually a very healthy thing to do. So my answer would be yes and not only that but I would absolutely encourage you to do the same.

As more time goes on, the more apparent it is that this business is based almost solely on your experience. So try something and see how it works out.

If you have any kind of substantial spend available to you, consider testing offers and networks on paid traffic to ensure that they convert and that you get paid. Obviously don't go broke doing it, spend just enough to get you over whatever the first initial payment threshold is, wait and make sure you do get paid.

After that point, determine what your investment in that affiliate network or that product should be.

I'd give that a shot if it's been reputable for a couple years.

I would do my research on it and read reviews but if the new platform looked alright, I don't see why I wouldn't give it a go.

If you do this long enough you have to change platforms sometimes.
    I did something today I said I wouldn't do.
I have what I call a sitter page, its a 10 most list page on a domain and the vendor I used for it stopped doing there affilate program. I had just lined them up on avangate.

Well I was desperately trying to find someone to replace them, couldn't find anything that matched, even went to clickbank which I hate and looked. It's a survival page for disasters and I needed an all around product. I found stuff on food storage and shelter and things by there selves but not all around. So I just searched broad and found a program. I really had no choice so I signed up and got my link on my page and reindexed ect.

The moral is, if you do this long enough you have to change to find the right product for the site sometimes and if you do affiliate marketing you get those emails everyday that say we have stopped the product so and so. If you see they put it back up in a day or two you know they didn't pay on time lol.
