Help, how to get started?

Hey dear warriors,
I'm new to this online business world and I'm really glad, that I found this place here.
So, I'm looking to get started to my own business but how can I start the best?
Another important point is, I'm looking to get paid via Paypal if this is possible.
I'm looking forward to your help and thank you very much in advance.

not that easy to just tell you where to start.... do you have a specific idea on which niche or a specific produt that you want to promote?
otherwise just surf here at warriorforum to learn about IM (if you join the war room, like one time payment of $30 or so, you get lots of free ebook offers). Learn how to build a list and a sales funnel....

1.Firstly, know what people want. The Product.
2.Then buy a domain name and a hosting to setup a website.
3.Register with Paypal. Be a Premium member. Then use the button from paypal to setup your in your webpage.
    4.Get traffic to your site.

Sounds easy, but this is generally you have to do.

Choose your topic. Something that will inspire you to take action. What skills do you have? What hobbies do you have? What do you love talking about? Build an information business around that. Make sure there are buyers out there. Check out Amazon non fiction books to see if there are plenty of books on your topic. Do a search for your topic in google and see if there are paid ads there. It needs to profitable for you to make money.

    Hi there,

How much is your starting budget?

One of the best thing you can do now is to find yourself a mentor. Not just any mentor, he have to know what he's doing and supportive to students.

You will save a lot of time doing so, than finding the magical $10 PDF and wasting your time on systems that may/may not work.

I just answered pretty much the same question in another thread, but i'll put it here too. I suggest that you join the war room right here on the forum. As i said in the other thread it's not free but it is worth it.

The OP suggests that you have no idea what you want to do online as a business. There are so many different ways to make money online which makes it hard for anyone to offer you any real advice.

You can often pick up a complete method in the WR with complete instructions, I suggest you join up and find something that you like the look or sound of and give it a go. Start with something simple so you can quickly establish that making money online is possible.

Other than that, decide on what your online strengths are and perhaps sell those skills as a service. Hope that helps.

Let me ask you a question before starting to get serious in doing business here in the internet. What is your specialty? Writing articles? Web designing? Doing SEO service? If one or more of these are your specialties, you can start create your own service, promote it to your targeted customers, and get potential revenue once they are interested.

For what it's worth, I only started in Jan of this year so I am no expert, but I have learned a massive amount since, and now I have my fingers in many different pies. But in fact I think I learned too much ! Yes, the one thing I was not prepared for is total info overload to the point of my head exploding (well, nearly). It's so easy to go buying everything that is on sale here, that promises to make you 20,468 dollars in the next 10 days. I'm afraid that all that stuff only makes the person selling it more money.
Anyway, if you are where I was when I started, i.e. knew nothing about anything, I suggest you could do what i did and go and join an affiliate network and choose a product to promote. It's largely unimportant what you choose at this point, as it will be your induction to this world as a learning experience. Then go and watch the many great Wordpress tutorials on YouTube, and then go to Wordpress.com and create a free Wordpress site and promote the product you chose. That at least will give you great training in getting sites up quickly and easily. You very likely won't make any money out of this free site, but for me it was an invaluable learning experience on setting up Wordpress sites and learning how to write a sales pitch and get a decent sales page up. Go to Google and search other sites selling similar products and see what others are doing too. Analyze their pages and get ideas for copywriting styles and designs. It's a long haul and not easy to get started making money.

After you're reasonably competent at creating sites, then you can choose if you want to create your own info products or continue promoting stuff belonging to others and start list building. For now concentrate on the very basics and digest the many great free resources online.

    Hope that helps.

    Simon.

Apologies indeed for the confrontational undertone, Simon, but this is awful advice. That would be breaching wordpress.com's terms of service. It's for hobby bloggers only. Nothing commercial is allowed there at all. As soon as anyone (e.g. a competitor) brings such a blog to their attention, it's immediately deleted. If you're doing this at wordpress.com yourself, make sure your sites are well backed up!

The safe, reliable way for a marketer to have a free WordPress blog is to avoid wordpress.com, but use a self-hosted WordPress blog on free hosting somewhere like Byethost, 000WebHost or Freehostia.

Apologies for "picking on" your very first post here, but it's easy to misadvise people by not being aware of the terms of service of people with whom you do business online. This forum's full of people who have had unnecessary and entirely avoidable "accidents", that way.

Wow, I'm really impressed of all these answers thanks to everybody!
    So the questions:
    1. Basically I'm willing to learn everything but I'm just at the beginning with my experiences and skills but basically I'm able to setup my own site and I also like writing and design.
    2. I can invest about 200$ at the beginning.

So the conclusion would be to get a) a mentor b) set up your own site and product or c) affiliate marketing and list bilding.
The monetizing of a site is only possible with advertisments like adsense right?
And am I right that you can't really grow with Paypal only?
Another thing which stays in my mind is: do you need your real informations like name and things like that or isn't that really important?

I know that the most of the things to make thousands a week and stuff like that are just fake and to attract people and I want to start real business so I have to setup my own business.
Thank you guys for your help and I'm glad that there are people who want to show me the right path to succes.
I'm looking forward to learn from you guys,

Seven, you have summarised your understanding well. I will go with Simon's experience as well, you can get a lot of information and quickly
you will be learning TOO MUCH which is fine but we are not in grad school, if you have decided to be in IM then treat is a BUSINESS.
And any business needs to have a plan: questions I have on my plan are 1) What do I have to learn?
      2) Where do I go to get answers
      3) What customer segment am I wanting to serve, what will they buy (niche)
      4) Who can I learn from quickly so i don't keep reading for years...etc etc

Punch line- ask the right questions and you will get the right answers...be a frequent visitor to warrior forum as you can quickly assess
what's happening in the IM community.

      All the best,
      Himani

I would start with building a blog that will help you brand yourself so people can get to know you. Then decide what niche you want to go into.

Immerse yourself in that field and learn as much as you can about it. Then create a product and start marketing it, in the process be building your email list.

Of course it is a lot harder than it sounds and it does take some time. But you can do it if you stick with it. Good luck

Keep in mind with PayPal, the rule of thumb is that you will have to pay self-employment taxes if you reach both $20,000 in sales and 200 individual sales. If you reach that goal, you will receive a 1099-K at the beginning of the year. Make sure you're withdrawing .

I will give you tactical advice:

      1. Choose carefully the program to follow. There are many scammers, so beware
      2. Concentrate on one "money making program" and DO IT. Don't start something else before you finish with the first program
      3. Create a SYSTEM of daily scheduled steps to execute towards your goals. This is very important
      4. The devil is in the details. Sometimes tiny tweaks can make big deference
      5. Celebrate you successes and learn emotionlessly from you mistakes, think of them like a part of the learning curve

Next time use the "thank button".

The most difficult part of any business is starting, once you pick a business model be it affiliate marketing, drop shipping, ad network, design and others, you will forge ahead if you truly have the zeal.

You can't learn from the outside.

I suggest you pick your business model wisely, it's the most important thing.

Use the search engines and WF search bar to find types of online business and see which ones fits your current state before going indepth.

  • Get a mentor or some IM training so you can learn from people that have already succeeded in what you want to do and so you can avoid mistakes that will cost you time and money.

Sure you can search threads and forums and get tidbits of information. But usually this becomes overwhelming for newbies and often time you're given misinformation or will get distracted by the multiple options.

So I would highly recommend getting a mentor or structured im training so you don't become overwhelmed or misguided. Hope this helps.

If you want to start an online business and get paid with PayPal I would suggest to create your own information products and sell them. Think about topics youre passionate about and feel comfortable teaching and then create your own info products.

More importantly though, to find the best business model for you I would suggest to look around on here and research the different types of online businesses (there are MANY) and find what interests you, then find someone who is actually doing what you want to know, and model that persons business.

Here is a great way to get started.

    1. Choose a business model (product creation, selling services, affiliate marketing, etc....)
    2. Educate yourself on the model by searching the warrior forum or Google for free. Or you can buy a course or invest in a coach that will run you through the basics of setting up the business model.
    3. Start taking action.
    4. Focus on this one business model and don't give up until you make the amount of money you want to make.
    5. Scale up or learn a new business model.

There is so much information already on this forum that you can look through and get started with. As for paying with paypal, that shouldn't be a problem as it's the standard preferred way of completing payments on the internet anyway. If you have a particular knowledge in a certain area, you could begin selling info products to people. This is a very good business model that can make you a tonne of money if done well.

To get started there are three basics steps to creating a successful internet business:

    1. Find a profitable market where people are already spending money in.

    2. Build a list of people who are interested in this profitable market

    3. Give massive value to these people, and promote products or your service to them.

This is a rough outline -- but is the outline every successful internet marketer follows. Above all else, remember to build your list.

You are going to find two main paths recommended to you.

1: Start your own service, create your own product.

2: Sell other peoples stuff. aka "Affiliate Marketing"

Lots of advice is being thrown out and the typical starting point usually introduced is create or have created content to put on your own blog. Start your own blog so people will get to know you and you can develop a reputation from.

That's usually how it goes because that is the primary ways that people, here, start out and is the primary theme to the teachings you will find here on the forums.

It really comes down to one thing and that is selling something to other people. What and where you get that something when you are starting out usually begins with your own talents and skills. You do NOT need to create your own service or product for the sale to take place there are many many people willing to offer or sell you THEIR something so you can sell it to others.

    This usually assumes that

1: You know how to sell.

I would recommend staying away from suggestions for offering services and products that you personally have no experience with. If you do not understand SEO ( Search engine Optimization ) then I wouldn't jump into trying to learn it to create a service or product around it. Same goes for anything else you don't personally know how to do at this time.

During my 16 plus years of Warrior Forum and Internet Marketing experience here are the most profitable areas one could focus on that will make a living wage and begin to pay the bills without too much hassle or headache. Some of them do assume you have relevant knowledge and skill.

1: Writing. This can be very profitable and can almost immediately put money in your account. This assumes that you can write, understand the language as a native speaker and understand proper grammer and correct use of words with proper spelling etc...

Does not have to be English can be Spanish or any other language as long as there is a need for something to be written or converted to.

A lot of people would immediately jump to creating articles and hire themselves out on a per word or per article basis. I am sure there are a plethora of article masters here in the forum offering just this same service. Haven't checked the Special Offers section here in the site but I am sure there are more than two of these type of services being offered.

Starting out without any current prospects you can expect to charge very little in the beginning and have a large amount of work foisted upon you for less than you would be willing to do it for.

Personally I wouldn't go that route but if you have the time feel free to dabble into it and see how you feel about it after a few days.

You can write articles and reports based on research you do and offer it for sale as a collection that you can allow others to resell and make money from or use only for personal use. Licensing can vary and is up to you. Usually the more ways you allow the content to be used the more you charge them.

This is also a good way to make some quick money but it can be a hassle after awhile.

Personally I would combine these methods into a upfront offer as a paid trial to your services as a sneak peak into what you can offer. Then charge a higher price for regular work and start a special deal for new clients in a monthly subscription payment. When clients drop you just rerun the offer until all your slots are filled again. Will keep you on the ball and you can have predictable income.

    2: Sales Letter Writer
This is the most profitable of the writing specialty but you must have the knack of being able to persuade people to buy. If you have this ability then writing sales letters will be ideal because you can just do it one and keep having money handed to you day in and day out.

There are two ways to do this. Write for others in a paid contractor way or write for yourself and make money usually through affiliate marketing and your own products.

You must be versed in conversion and know how to get people to take action.

    3: Consulting

This is more profitable than anything but you really have to know what you are doing and can get others to reliably reproduce results. There are many forms of consulting such as personal coaching, business coach where you mentor or coach someone on an on going basis for money. The highest paid business people are consultants. The highest paid Internet Marketers are Consultants. Every single person that teaches IM via Seminars are consultants offering their experience and resources to clients for money. A LOT Of $$$.

The problem here is that everyone thinks they can be a consultant and starts offering coaching and mentoring without any real world experience and it usually turns into a disaster for them and their clients. If you have no personal experience in something you obviously can't teach others to be successful doing it. After all your clients are paying you for results in advance and if the results never come they will get very loud and vocal about you. You do NOT want that.

The most important advice I can give you is to believe in yourself and your abilities. Ignore the people that tell you to sell on the cheap and do not allow yourself to think that everyone is broke and this forum is the ONLY place to sell your services and products. In fact I would say do NOT sell anything here in this forum at all. Take what you learn and apply it to getting clients and customers via Search Engines, Paid Advertising, Word of Mouth and other websites like facebook and social media sites. Do not take part in the WSO section of this site unless to be a buyer of something and not a seller.

The reason is you will bypass most if not all the problems and complaints a lot of people focus on here when trying to get clients and new work scheduled. Just my experience others I am sure think differently but from my perspective if you focus on getting clients and prospects out in the internet in the wild a lot of issues focused in these forums just never come up. I may be operating under a certain level of applied knowledge here so experience may vary.

I am writing this post in the small quick reply box so I can't really see what I have written so far. If I need to add more I will in another post.

There is no better way to learn how to succeed than to learn from someone who has already done it In common, the most important skill you can learn, no matter what business you are starting, is marketing. I don’t make a distinction between online and offline marketing. Once you learn marketing you can use it anywhere, with a few tweaks of course. Other than that if you are starting you own business, then first design a website relevant to your niche.
