How to promote a flippa listing ?

I am currently selling my ecommerce website that`s making $500/mo on flippa. I will get some great bids, I`m sure, as I intend to feature it soon. But how do I get other possible customers to the listing ?

For high end website you must feature your listing on Flippa (Since its earning you $500/ month ) and list it for larger time span. for example 30 days and keep on adding income proofs and posting comments on your listing to keep the bidders interested. Good example of high end website on sale on flippa is ForumSpecialOffers for sale. [what ever i suggested are the things I noticed in FSO listing]
Apart from this you can also embed in your site a small flippa code that will notify the users that your website is on sale on Flippa (Your clients know true worth of your website so you may also get some good bids from them)

FSO is for sale ? lol ! Thank you for the info, I will do that, I will post comments, but the time is 14 days. I plan to promote it as soon as it reaches the big dip of traffic.

For pictures, I will add traffic and revenue proofs for all the months.

If it's over 6 months old go for a premium listing, it costs $250 If I remember correctly. I always try to end on a Sunday (works for me). Pack the listing out with as much proof as you can. As for timing, I don't subscribe to listing for long time periods, in my experience (i have sales of over $150k) 7-10 days is long enough.

People buy websites like they buy houses; once they decide they want one, they just have to have one and unless they really want yours they might just buy something else which they can take ownership of quicker.

    Mrgoe,

    Here is one idea,

With your top 2 or 3 keyword phrases (for your site), do an exact match search on Google. Then visit the top 50 or 100 web sites that show up in the results for your top keywords. These are likely some of your direct competitors.

I would contact the owners of these sites, tell them you are selling your site, and give them an incentive to check it out further. Maybe you get lots of traffic in the niche. Maybe you have a mailing list that they would be interested in. Maybe you own or license products relevant to the niche. Maybe you have lots of site content that would be helpful to them. Find some great reasons why owning your site would help their business.

I would ask them to make an offer on your site, even before you run the Flippa auction. You never know what kind of reaction you'll get, especially if your site is something that is enticing to the top site owners in your space. If you don't want to take any of the offers, simply explain that you believe your site will sell at a higher price in your upcoming auction and encourage them to participate.

Even if you don't get an offer, you may well increase the number of bidders you end up getting on Flippa when your auction comes up.

The best to you in selling your site.
