New member looking for advice

Hello, I just opened a new web store and know very little about online marketing. The store has been open for a week and so far I've had 150 visitors and no sales. The only forms of advertising I'm doing is google Adwords and a facebook page that I have invited my friends and family to.

Can you suggest a few things I should learn to get me going in the right direction?

Thank you
Adam

  • I think you should get some mentoring. Too often people just put up websites without any real game plan and direction. And when you use adwords if your campaigns aren't optimized correctly you could be spending more money than you should and lose it quickly.

So you might want to pause your campaign and get a mentor or a solid lesson in PPC and other ways of driving traffic to your store.

I am selling in the prepper / survival niche, I bought a course that teaches how to setup a site and setup the keywords and adwords but doesn't go into the other areas of marketing. so from the sales side I have it covered but the marketing side is lacking. Also I am on a bit of a budget say 2K at most to get it going.

I am working on some articles to post to my facebook page and add in an email sequence for people that subscribe to my store.

If you have time and you really want you can learn and make you the job for marketing side. You find a lot of free information here and over the web, you can invest to buy some mentoring, but all this take a lot of time.

If you want to start selling quickly, use freelancers.
2k is a start and after invest more from your profits.

    Adam,

Congratulations on getting some visitors to your web site. There is a ton of things to learn, but you're at the right place and if you listen and observe what's going on here you'll learn what you need to do. Avoid the temptation to spend a lot of money on this and that at first.

I would say you need to set up a way to capture visitor email addresses and names so that you can begin to build a mailing list in your niche. Getting visitors to your site is great . . . but getting them on your list is much better as you will then be able to communicate with them over time and eventually sell products to them. So building a prospect list should be one of your highest priorities. There are lots of threads in the Warrior Forum that will teach you how. Use the search function and look for "list building" tips and techniques.

There was a helpful thread about free traffic methods awhile ago. You might want to review this thread for some ideas.

    The very best to you,

    Steve

  • I recommend you spend some time building an audience first on social media sites like FB and Twitter. Build a relationship with your audience first and then mix in offers.
