I've not telemarketed much before myself, but I am curious for some other opinions.... I am an independent insurance broker, and I am looking for a telemarketer to generate me leads. That being said, I am wondering if other agents have better success themselves or by outsourcing? I see the benefits of both: If I am the one doing it, I can answer questions, get the door open, etc. But by having someone else, I'm free to be out in the field while they're on the phone. Since I'm new I don't want to waste a lot of money, and I want to be as efficient with my time as possible. Any help is appreciated!

I have a better idea...Pay attention to your local paper. look for all the anniversaries or weddings that are coming up...those are great prospects.

Also, talk to realtors in your local area. Setup a deal with them that they can share their leads for houses. People who buys home are more likely to have insurance. They want to make sure that if the dump the bucket their family will be taken care of...

I love your idea of the realtor networking! Our newspapers stopped carrying weddings and anniversaries a few years ago though, so that part won't work unfortunately....
