Got $140 to spend? But ... Where?

Hi,

I want to star a small business. Maybe as a an affiliate with Clinkbank ?

Any suggestions? I want you all to guide me. I really do not care if process goes really slow. I just don't want to waste my money.

I'm newbie, but i know the basics and how everything works. I am just confused what to earn and start earning slowly.

P.S: You can also recommend WSO which you have followed to earn money online.

Thanks

    Domain
    Hosting
    Autoresponder

Start building a list in any market of your choice.

Hosting: 1 penny for your first month
    Autoresponder: $1 first month
    Domain: $10/year

    So far you've spent $11.01

That leaves $128.99 to buy a squeeze page plugin for $17 (WpOptins)

    That leaves: $111.99

Spend your time getting your squeeze page copy written and work on traffic generation and conversions.

Also spend another $10 on getting some sort of free report to give away.

You still have $100 to spend.

    Good luck.

So if you are a newbie exclude paid advertising as you will only loose money.
Get first into the system, chose your way and go for it.
You can start with ClickBank product but it's not so easy to promote it, especially as a newbie.
Buying domain is ok, hosting plat too, autoresponder service also but than what...
You need to create squeeze page and for that you don't need anybody just some will and time to practice.
Browse youtube video how to create HTML squeeze page, download WYSWYG website editor, nvu is newbie friendly and start to practice.
Soon you get experience and you will be able to create one in less that 30 minutes, ready to bring you money.
Save your money as much as you can because lots of thing you can do by yourself.
Once you have your squeeze page you can start promote product on a free basis on Facebook per ex.
Create Facebook fan page or better group as grow faster than page if you don't use fb PPC/CPM.
Try to learn something about SEO, optimize your page for SE... Its a slow process but you said you are not in a hurry.
Those who are in a hurry and want hard to make money they push the sale, not the content and fail before first corner come.

Work smart, not hard. BOOM. First bit of advice you should ever hear.

Also I'd like to note that I went into spending money on advertising very early on and only ever saw good results. I'm not saying it's for everyone, but if you have common sense you'll have an upperhand on a lot of people out there that just throw money around like it's nothing.

And again... work smart, not hard Kudos to papuanac for beating me to saying it

Get a website - domain name and a webhosting plan. But before you invest on anything, make sure that you have a plan.

  • Like others have argued, get a mentor and a step by step training program. You can go it alone and probably end up making mistakes and wasting money that could be avoided if you have the guidance of people who've already been where you are.

Sure you can try to learn on your own but again it can be time consuming and expensive.

You can keep that cash as you build more capital by using free methods to promote products or CPA offers.. There ere plenty of tutorials out there on how you can use youtube and social media pages for promotions. They do take time to build a presence but in the end you will not regret.

I suggest you spend that money to build a list. Buy a domain, hosting, Aweber subscription, eBook and squeeze page design. After that, promote your landing page with optin form in any forum that allows signature.

Best is to get a mentor and guide you through everything step by step. Not any $10 WSO, but a mentor.
You can easily have your money and time down the drain if you have no idea what you are doing.

You need to learn from a mentor. Having a domain, hosting and a squeeze page is good, but it means nothing if you don't have a coach who can show you how to drive traffic.

How will it benefit me? Will i make any money from list building ? I mean, if i would give away lets say an ebook for free and make a squeeze page. How it is going to help me?

P.S: I think mentor will charge more money.

    Forget what everyone else says.

If you want to be an affiliate? Marketer? Online entrepreneur?

    Learn what your demographic wants.

Learn how to communicate with them.

    Learn how to reach them.

Learn more about them than they know about themselves.

Study the classic marketing and advertising books. Claude Hopkins, Eugene Schwartz, Oglivy, Halbert, Collior. (Do a google).

Master these criteria? Your competition will be running scared.

In fact, they won't even be running. Because you'll be so far out of their league while they jump from object to object.

    Looking for shiny stuff.

So far I haven't seen a single post talk about the #1 most important thing you need... You need a goal.

Going outside and gardening isn't a goal. Going out to plant x number of seeds in y rows is a goal.

Work smart, not hard. BOOM. First bit of advice you should ever hear.
Meh. This is what people say to make things sound cute and easy. If more people worked harder (on their goals) instead of running around trying to find ways to make things easier then they'd get more things done.

Some cause-oriented hackers recently hacked one of my websites. So I researched what they're about and then donated a large sum of money to the entity they hate the most.

The next time they hack one of my websites I'm going to donate DOUBLE.

A goal is just one part of working smart..

I'm not saying that people should put in little effort. I'm advising them to put in effort where it's needed, rather than just working really hard and getting no where.

But yes, working smart does make things a hell of a lot easier. You could work all day long at building websites, like some of my friends, and get no where.. I have friends who have spent years learning how to create websites, some are amazing coders, but when it comes to getting a website up and their idea out there.. it can take them weeks/months/years because they are so meticulous about every detail. You can say that's a great thing and it definitely can be.. but you could also outsource the work, or find an easier route (like WordPress, Joomla, etc.) that will help you get your idea on the web much faster.

Or... you could be like one of my good friends who thinks that he has to self host every single thing he owns. Spending countless hours trying to manage his servers, worrying about crashes, having issues that he can't resolve, etc.

      Working smart isn't a bad thing.. it's a gift.

You're telling that you want to start a small business. Unlike many Internet marketers, including me, unable to resist the temptation of BSOs, never treat their activity is a business. You deserve a lot of appreciations on this point.

Yes you are right. It takes time to understand the basics of marketing and customer psychology. In order to equip the skills you have to spend your money otherwise you remain clueless as to how to proceed in this marketing journey.

I fully agree with Sarevok. This is what exactly you have to learn and master it. I try to complement what he's telling.

      To be successful as an Internet marketer you need to strengthen the four pillars. If you are weak even in one of the four pillars the structure will crumble. The following are the four pillars;

      1. Market research: Ability to understand the needs of your perspective. In the marketing technology, we use words like demographics, psycho-graphics and customer avatar. In essence, it is a deep understanding of your customer's problem.

      2. A product: once you strength and the first pillar you should have a product that solves the problems of your customers. So the product is the second pillar of your mansion. Maybe it is your own product or affiliate product it doesn't matter.

      3. Traffic: the inability to bring traffic to your offer is the third pillar of your mansion. If you are the product owner, you get the traffic through affiliates and JVs. If you are an affiliate, you try to get traffic through SEO, social media optimization and video marketing.

      4. Backend: this is the fourth pillar. This principle is based on one important marketing principle i.e lifetime value of customer. Email marketing comes under this arena. Here you increase sales and conversion rates.

Those who want to be really successful as an Internet marketer they must focus on these four pillars. If we any one of the pillars is weak, the structure will crumble.

This is exactly what I have learned during my 2 ½ years of Internet marketing experience.
