Sales Funnel Optimization

Hey Warriors..

I'm in the process of doing some testing, possibly even split testing different price point configurations in my sales funnel.

Concurrently, I thought I would post a few ideas here for discussion. I have a few different products at price points of $7, $17, and $27. Assume each product is relevant to the previous one, and I'm fully aware a lot of my results will be based on traffic quality.

Here's the scenarios I am curious about:
(2 Stage, High to Low)
Freebie > upsell $27 ..Yes, ..Sale
No...downsell $7 ..Yes, Sale.
No... download freebie

(2 Stage, High to Med)
Freebie > upsell $27 ..Yes, ..Sale
No...downsell $17 ..Yes, Sale.
No... download freebie

(2 Stage, Med to Low)
Freebie > upsell $17 ..Yes, ..Sale
No...downsell $7 ..Yes, Sale.
No... download freebie

(3 Stage, High to Med to Low)
Freebie > upsell $27 ..Yes, ..Sale
No...downsell $17 ..Yes, Sale.
No...downsell #2 $7 ..Yes, Sale.
No... download freebie

I curious to find out if anyone has done similar testing on their funnel, or if anyone has predictions of what my results would be just based on their results with their funnels.

Its just a discussion, I hope to hear some opinions, if you don't mind sharing them.

  • I'd go with either #1 or #2 actually. And add a OTO/micro-continuity option after the sale. From what I've tested (in my niche, of course) the 2nd downsells aren't very statistically significant in plugging leakages. I'd rather go with an email capture, or retarget them with ads.

  • I was thinking of split testing 2 and 1. It makes sense to start off high, even with a totally fresh prospect since they're still in the buying mode I would think.

4 sounded tempting but that might be over the top annoying to someone who wants to get to their freebie download. That's how I'd feel anyway.

    Thanks for your input.
