I can just tell you one thing. Even with VA, you will still work. probably less, but you will work. Do let us know what you did before....let us know what you want to achieve. I am actually writing one blueprint now...and I think 99% of this blueprint can be outsourced... ;-)

It's far easier to outsource things you do understand, have experience of and know how to do yourself than things you don't. Your previous management skills may be helpful to some extent, but outsourcing online is also a skill-set all of its own. It isn't nearly as easy as is widely believed.

Hi Alexa, interesting point... so you would you see a proven model + fulltime consistent traffic generation by a skilled VA = £££ as an over simplyfying of how straighforward making money on the net can be?

Yes; honestly I would - very much so.

If it were that easy, then many of those "competent, skilled, potential VA's" you need would be doing it for themselves, to some extent. But they're not. (I don't pretend the logic's quite as simple or as universal as that, of course, and I acknowledge that some people have no capital to set anything up for themselves, and that some don't have a "business-owner mindset" and are better off working for other people, too; but still - I think you'll find there's also something in what I'm suggesting!).

Of course Alexa im sure you know a site more than i do about the subject of VA's
What your insights have told me is that i need to pan for those gold nuggets of models to suit exactly what im looking for :-)

I do actually employ two full-time VA's, now ... but it took me a very long time to find and train the right people. I'm arguably one of the least-qualified people here to offer anyone advice about finding VA's.

My guess, given what you've said, is that - to maximize your chances - you ought to be trying to identify business models in which the requisite skill-levels are relatively low and widely available, but there's quite some capital cost involved which dissuades many people from trying to set them up (because that way, there'll be competent, skilled people available to work for others but unable to compete with them?). But I'm not sure what "those business models" are. My own business was exactly the opposite, when I started it: high skill-levels but no financial outlay required (and there are some parts of it I can't really outsource without paying a fortune). Not at all helpful to you, I'm afraid.

Much food for thought thanks, I'm glad I made the thread :-)

  • Virtual assistants are there to HELP you build your businesses. Notice the emphasis on HELP. You have to build your business first before you have a VA. You need to have a working business model before you hire a VA. Yes, a virtual assistant can eventually take over running a business but this is after you have built a good business son a solid model. And to have them take over takes a lot of training and resources.

A person in my traffic group has a VA that runs her solo ad business. All she has to do is the marketing part and that is mostly through facebook networking.

I have one great va and some good va's. Man I love my great va, she can do niche finder, scrapebox, photoshop, copywriting, squeeze pages, you name it she is on it, plus she listens to me,

She knows the four types of squeeze pages I use, she knows what kind of landing page I use and even picks out the programs from the affiliates for the funnels. Yeah, having your own product is not all that great, much better to use and leverage off someone else, but that is a different story.

I mean, she charges me 250 a month for 40 hours a week. Now trust me her bonuses are huge cause she makes me money.

What I am trying to say is, if you know the business and you can get the right VA you can triple your income or even up from there.

You may have to go through a few va's to find one great one but let me explain how I do it.

Go to a VA site, weather a dedi va site or odesk or freelancer. Now post your ad, make dang sure you post everything you can so you get a qualified va. Post they have to know this and this and this and this, they have to be available at 9 am central to 930 am central to chat with you. Post what is expected each week ect.

Get you a vps remote desktop and put the software up you want them to use and have everything there for them so you both can get to it.

Now when you hire give one task and one password, if they do good give a little more leaway, if they do better keep it up. If you suspect for a minute they will harm your business shut down that pass and move on.

Usually takes me three to find a really great one.
