Hi there,

I am looking for the king mack daddy of creating high converting landing pages. Is anyone aware of a course or info product that teaches the best practices for doing this? Thanks, looking forward to your responses.

Nate

P.S. I realize my ad says I am a copywriter, but there is always room for improving. I would like to get some fresh insights on whats working really well right now.

How to create a high converting landing page?

Promise the earth, (because you don't have to deliver at that point.)

    A course?

    There are some.

I know a copywriter that charges $5k and I am sure this individual has been thought of as a 'Mack Daddy' by many previous clients.

But to answer your question, for less than I'd say $3k, you won't find a course to provide anywhere near the level of quality you think you want.

Nothing hard about it. Find the best converting pages online and copy what they do. If you want to know why they are effective than you can just read the copywriting forums or google information.

I disagree completely, one of the best ways to learn copy is to find copy that moves you into action, and study it. That's free.

That's all fine and good Nate, but that isn't the question you asked.

You asked about a course or info product.

        Are there free ones?

        Yep.

Are they going to give you what you asked for?

        Never.

You want to get access to the people who are spending $10k per day on traffic and look at their stats. By the time a squeezepage design template hits the market it's already become obsolete and conversions will soon dive as the people using the template will spoil it by just using it out of the box.

Building a list via questionnaire's seems to be popular, as does having background designs, but ultimately the conversions depend on what the market you're targeting is, and how strong your lead magnet is.

It's all about the irresistible offer. No slick words, design layout, color themes, etc compare. Those things are secondary and can be tweaked.

Keep your page simple, don't include fields other than an Email, always send the report to inbox instead of giving direct download, have a compelling title with big fonts, make your page load very fast.

If you're a copywriter, you probably already know the available building blocks, so if I were you, I'd just jump right in, run ongoing split tests, and let the numbers be the guide.

      Hey buddy,

can I just ask why you suggest to send the report to inbox rather than a direct download? Not being clever, just asking cos I can't figure it out

You should never drive traffic from your promotional campaigns ?whatever they are ?onto your website home page. Clarity and relevancy will make it or break it Visitors spend just seconds looking at a landing page before determining its usefulness and relevance to their needs. If they can find what they are looking for, or if your site has functional or usability problems, they will abandon the page. The headline is the most important part. If the visitors came by clicking on an ad, it must correspond to the ad text that triggered the page. Make it clear, relevant, concise. Don't put too much text on the page, as the visitor has to be able to read it quickly. Use bullet points to drive the main points home.
