Okay....so I'm taking a stab at YouTube and put up a test video.

Found here:

I don't have much extra money for a better camera at the moment but I was wondering if anyone had any suggestions other than "editing."

Tips for marketing videos? Picking a niche? Thanks!

You mentioned this event is this Sunday?

By the time you can take advantage of good traffic the subject matter becomes irrelevant.

I think you are on the right track tho.

You could always leave a link to a Topic relevant website or somewhere fans can pick up some retail merchandise.

You should easily be able to find other fans in social media sites as well.

Thanks. Yeah this one is for an event but what I would essentially like to do is build a decent following and do prediction videos for various events.

WWE, UFC (as well as other MMA organizations), etc.

It's just an idea though and I'm not sure how well these kind of videos typically do but my GOAL is to reach 10,000 followers eventually.

    Thanks for the input!

You're genuine. And in a niche fan based niche like this, that's all you need.

People will agree with you or disagree and this is good because it causes discussion.

What I would set up to do, is continue to speak from the heart and gain subscribers.

You could later post videos about WWE merchandise and tickets to events.

You could also build a list easily, once you have a nice amount of subscribers, by holding contests for free tickets, or paying for a subscribers PPV.

And all they'd have to do is share your content, or respond to a video, etc

I would be very careful with WWE. They are very protective about their brand.

If you want to build something even vaguely related to WWE you should contact them before you start and ask for permission.

A simple fan page in that case might be fine but as soon as you start to monetize it you might find yourself in fairly hot water if you do not have written permission from them.

This is true. Vince didn't get the "B" in billionaire by letting other people make money on his product without giving him a taste.

That said, WWE fans are some of the most rabid I've ever seen. Even though the Monday and Friday events are on TV, people pack the arenas at $25-$50 per ticket. They've pretty much cornered the market on "sports videos", the annual video game release is worth millions, and they sell millions in tee shirts, fake "championship" belts and other gear. Don't even start on the pay per view events (about 14/yr) at $35-$75 each.

They even put several wrestler bios on the NY Times best seller list.

Movies with WWE "Superstars" do very well when released on DVD/BluRay.

The E! network even has a new reality show based on the lady wrestlers (called "Divas").

If you can find a way to piggyback on their relentless self-promotion without getting in hot water, this could be an amazing market.
