Having some issues motivating myself and having accountability for some of my online ventures. What is the best way to do this? Maybe we can start being accountable here.

You just need to have at least one person that can act as an accountability buddy to keep you on track. Someone you have to update on your progress every so often.

I personally think accountability partners/buddies are crap and a copout

All you need to do is be accountable to you and your family and all will be well.

Believing in and loving what you're doing should be a motivating force...
    in my opinion :-)

"Accountability Threads" would likely be deleted quickly as "follow me" threads are not allowed. Too much potential for abuse/promotion.

(Would that fall under the umbrella of "self-abuse"?:p)

If you are having trouble motivating yourself, you are obviously not doing something you love.

If you love doing what you are doing, you should have no problem motivating yourself.

I've made my online venture public on my own blog, declaring my goal and my timeline for achieving it. Now, the more I hustle and build a following the more people who show up with expectations based on what I have said I would do.

I have never been so productive. I feel like I have people depending on me, and even if that is just in my head it still works to make me push and get things done on days that I am limited on time.

You don't need to do it here, but being part of a group or having a mentor can help you with accountability.

As far as the comment on family, my family has no clue about my 'internet business' so having them push me to the next level is not likely. It helps when it comes from a mentor, or people in the trenches with you.

    Just my thoughts.

I once thought about having a forum on my blog, etc. Until someone told me that I was looking for a waste of time. To me, personally, accountability partners are a waste of time. Not for everyone - just me.

You really need to learn to kick your own ass. I think one good thing to do is to read Time Warrior - reallllly good book to help you learn how to be accountable to yourself. It's a no excuse book.

I love it. Crack open a random page almost daily.

Accountability partners are golden when the penalty, in writing, is to have to pay the other person a decent enough sum of money for not meeting their respective requirements.

Let's put our marketing rally caps back on folks.

I'm in a slump as well. have not really did anything worthwhile in over a month. I play on the net and post here. I have to get my butt in gear man, especially since the busy time For IM is coming upon us (the winter months).

I have tried everything, I honestly think if your not motivated nothing will work. I have to get the motivation back, I am already showing a drop in income due to this slump and in IM takes a while to get it back to where it needs to be.

An accountability buddy might help, but I don't think it's necessary.

The toughest part is the beginning, but just get started on something and the ball will get rolling on itself. Just get started.

You need someone that will hold you accountable. Find a friend with similar goals and dreams and check up on eachother either through email or the phone atleast twice a week to talk about results and where you are going.

This works if you decide to do it, and by the way nothing is hard in life so do what you have to do to make this business works!

    Good luck!

Have a digital to do list for each day (e.g. Asana) and don't go to sleep until everything on the list is checked off

Good idea. However I doubt a forum will help you do that. The best tech ive seen for that is similar to the weight loss sites...

Focus on the end result. On what your life will be like when you achieve your goal. Then make it a point to do something every single day to get you one step closer to that being a reality.

And... start having FUN in your online ventures!! If it's boring, and no fun, you'll have a hard time keeping interest (or motivation for any length of time).

If that's all it takes, most of us get reminders from our "accountability partners" in the mail every month. They arrive in those envelopes with the little window in the front...

        You're right John.

        I hate my accountability partners.
