Should Files Name for your website be captalized?

For example, is it better to have the file be like this :

www.examplesite.com/File-Name.html

or

www.examplesite.com/file-name.html


Is one way better than the other, for like SEO purposes?

  • For SEO, it doesn't matter.

    However, the capitalization of the file name is important to Linux. File-Name.html and file-name.html are two different file names in Linux while they're the same file name in Windows. This means that it's best to be consistent about your file naming conventions or else you'll end up with broken links.
