Please Critique My Affiliate Blog

It's not generating any income. I think i'm too close to it to see whats wrong, so i'm looking for some input.

I think there aren't enough calls to action, but I don't quite know how to implement them very well.

Thanks.

Please critique, I will be eternally grateful.

I'd honestly kill myself before I subject myself to an eternal 9-5.

I'm working 12 hours a day at a mine barely making ends meet.

I need for this to skyrocket. I will try anything and everything suggested no matter how absurd it seems.

I really will be eternally grateful.

          do you have traffic?

          - do keyword research, pick longtail phrases, seo post-titles & content
          - pick one good selling dating guide, write a nice & long review, link to it from every article/post
          - I would probably go with another theme or at least change the header image (put some nice girls there).
          - ads look unprofessional + you don't want a "make money online" ad on a dating site
          - make a disclaimer page

ok...don't know what my tips are worth... but let me tell you that there's far more to successful affiliate marketing than setting up a half-decent blog and throwing some links to affiliate products on it.. I know it because that was exactly my method and I'm not a millionaire yet

my tip would be to buy one of the newbie-wsos. I can honestly recommend JayXtreme's affilimax guide, it really opened my eyes to the whole process. At least now I actually have a plan and know how to layout my campaign

          good luck!

I think the very first thing you have to do is lose the bed! Your blog looks like a furniture advert!

Dating involves people so maybe happy smiling faces would be better or`put people on or in the bed.

As for the rest of the blog, there is nothing on it that even hints that this is about dating unless you are prepared to read some pretty dull looking posts and some even more dull looking adverts adverts.

You might not like what I say - but I believe it.
Build it, make money, then build some more
Some old school smarts would help - and here's to Rob Toth for his help. Bloody good stuff, even the freebies!

Definitely agree you should lose the bed and replace it with the faces of some attractive people in thier 20's. Also I would change the background color.Brown is probably the dullest color you could have chosen. Perhaps a pastel would make the site seem a little livelier.

Yes that bed and the room too have to go. It looks like an executive suite rather than a sweet executive. Too sterile. The colour scheme is too muted too, it needs to be brighter or be used as a backdrop to an exciting image.

Looks more like a hotel site than a dating site.
I know exactly what you mean:
"I'd honestly kill myself before I subject myself to an eternal 9-5"
But as blakaraka said it's not as easy as that - I really wish it was

I'm not going to comment on the header image. I took a quick look, and, truth be told, I was bored.

I scanned down the home page, ignoring the ads on the right altogether, and I didn't see anything I couldn't find on probably thousands of other blogs.

One thing did stand out, but not in a good way.

Your tag line talks about getting women from the bar to the bedroom - implying a pick-up artist shtick. Yet right in the middle of the posts on the front page is an article for "get your ex back", which blows your whole theme.

You also have several posts about picking up college girls, and how it's different than picking up women in bars. Which is what you promise to teach in your tag line.

Aesthetics aside, I'd pick one theme (like 'how to pick up college girls') and be consistent. Make real posts, not just promotions. Create a persona or character (a la 'David De Angelo') and write everything from that point of view.

If I were doing this niche (which my wife would kill me for trying), I'd find one good guide to picking up college girls. Study it. Look for things I could post about that would support what's in the manual. Things like...

    > Articles in magazines aimed at college-aged women and what men can learn from the articles.

    > Best schools to find hot, easy women (like Playboy's annual list of top party schools), then look for other blogs that talk about the college and the town so could drop local references into my posts.

    > Supplement the primary guide with affiliate offers that enhance guys' chances of success, like how to dress, which accessories (watches, etc.) are in style, and so on...

It's a lot more work than just slapping up a blog with some ads and canned promos, but that approach doesn't seem to be working for you. You can dodge the 9-5 bit, but you can't dodge the work - at least in the beginning...

      Reno,

If this comes off as snide, I apologize in advance for any hurt feelings.

Your approach has a multitude of problems - all of which contribute to your lack of success.

The appearance lacks the energy needed to be successful. You want people to be excited!!! They're going to learn how to get laid!!! They're going to be chick magnets!! The header graphic looks nice, but it doesn't fit.

You have no traffic. Your Alexa rank is 2.5m, which I imagine gets you < 20 visits a day.

The reason you have no traffic is because there is nothing on the site to attract visitors. Your site has nothing to offer.

Your site is not a blog. From Wikipedia:

A blog (a contraction of the term weblog) is a type of website, usually maintained by an individual with regular entries of commentary, descriptions of events, or other material such as graphics or video. Entries are commonly displayed in reverse-chronological order. "Blog" can also be used as a verb, meaning to maintain or add content to a blog.
Many blogs provide commentary or news on a particular subject; others function as more personal online diaries. A typical blog combines text, images, and links to other blogs, Web pages, and other media related to its topic. The ability for readers to leave comments in an interactive format is an important part of many blogs...
Your site is nothing more than a collection of weekly sales pitches. You site offers no value to the visitor. By value I mean information. You're asking the visitor to buy from you when you've done nothing for them and done nothing to bolster your credibility on the topic of your site.

Check out Darren Rowse's popular blog, problogger.net. It's a blog on blogging with tons of free tips and advice on how to successfully blog, whether it be for personal, business or financial reasons.

Darren has tons of affiliate links all over his site - he even sells his own book from his site. He establishes credibility through transparency and a genuine desire to help the readers succeed.

Your 'about' and 'promise' pages are just awful. They reek of desperation and shallowness.

Like others have said, your site is too unfocused to attract visitors and keep them coming back. Pick a niche and attack it.

Yeah, I think blogs should be blogs and mini sites should be mini sites. I've never had much success with blogs promoting an ebook type affiliate program. I always use a mini site approach or review site. Blogs should be updated with relevant content consistently and with quality.

You could definitely do that in the niche your going for, or you should choose the specific niche among the few you have going...

    Why reinvent the wheel?
Do some searches for keywords around your niche and find the top blogs/mini-sites on google. Try to understand why they've done what they've done, so that you can improve on it. Having said that, it's a good start and I've no doubt it will carry on getting better

When I saw your header my first thought was to leave your site without even looking at the rest of it. Maybe other people are quitting your site scared by your header too.
