I was watching a video from jeff walker some time ago...and he said it was possible to do a succesful product launch...without having any relationship with other affiilates and jv...

I dont think this is possible anymore as most jv will just promote you if you have promoted them in the past or they can see that you can bring them some good sales in the future (i think thats at least the case in the im niche...)

If the jv / affiliates see you have no list etc i dont think they will promote you...there are so many products to promote...whats your experience?

It entirely depends on the quality of the offer, the sales copy and everything else.

JVs/affiliates like money. It's as simple as that.

Most of the time they only promote people that promote for them because those are the guys and girls who's offers convert the best.

But if anyone, even a complete unknown, produces something awesome that's selling like hotcakes, everyone is going to get involved because, again ...

    They like money.

I know when I was doing affiliate marketing I would just look at the sales copy, making sure the usual stuff was there, video, something that catches the eye. You can always tell when a product looks junk because so does the sale copy.

As long as you have some value to your product and the sales pages look awesome affiliates should promote for you. Also good commission percentages per sale helps as Andy said they are after the money.

yep but there are a few product launches every day...and there is always one product launch every day that sells like hotcakes...normally launched by a big guy...so most jv will promote that guy instead of the unknown guy...even if the epc is slightly higher...

Yes, 97% of marketers won't promote you if they don't know you, if your product doesn't rock, and perhaps if you cannot reciprocate...

That's why you need to start building your list, make it responsive, become a true person, deliver gold value, up your game

If this doesn't stimulate you to become someone online, and grow a genuine personal brand and prosperous business, then IM is NOT FOR YOU!

    Hope it makes sense?

If you don't have the authority and assets to reciprocate with mailings and do cross-promos, then at least make good friends with those who can help, and help them one way or another beforehand.

Most people are just "can you promote for me?" beggars... is that's how you want to be perceived as? Work on your brand then...

  • The truth is that big affiliates and JVs won't promote a product launch from a person they don't know: there are plenty of quality product launches on a weekly basis from reputed vendors, so why would they push an anonymous launch from an anonymous vendor?

My advise? start off with an "Evergreen Product Launch" (google it) and gather your own traffic (solo ads, forum marketing, etc). In the meantime, continue building relationships with other vendors/affiliates in your niche. This is crucial: they MUST know you before they will promote you, period.

Finally, once you've made those relationships and enough Evergreen sales to show analytics to your potential affiliates, organize a standard launch for a big pay day. Trying to get a product launch off the ground as an unknown vendor will be VERY difficult.

This. You will have to build up your own reputation, gather good reviews, make sure that your sales page converts at a decent conversion rate, and then...maybe... some big time affiliates will be happy to help promote your product for you.

Well it depends how useful your product is and also how much they will make from the traffic they are willing to send... If you want to really attract JV's you will need to set up a jv page telling jv's all the details about your product all the benefits they can expect from promoting, etc. and that's how you build a jv list

I see (and help) completely unknown vendors get exposure, sales, jv connections, etc all the time. If you don't think you can get into the JV circles anymore, than unfortunately that's just an excuse and the real issue to work on is mindset, not tactics. The good news is that it's an easy mindset change to fix!

New vendors are coming onto the market every week and have been for years and will be for years.

Sure, you won't get the top dog in the space to promote your stuff from day one but it's a baby step process. Those willing to go through the baby steps and focus on delivering value, branding, networking, etc BECOME THE NEXT BIG DOGS

The industry has changed and will continue to change but the barriers to entry in this space are still much lower than public perception...people are proving that on a daily basis.
