Newb here with some general questions!

Hey guys,

So I've been doing a LOT of reading and looking around here on these forums and I have a few questions regarding what I can do to maximize potential earnings from my sources. Particularly, I have a large online presence with Twitter and the blogging website Tumblr, in which a lot of the content that I post to both platforms generally generate a lot of eyes and attention. I was wondering WHAT means I could potentially use in order to monetize my social media outlets in the best possible ways. I already have Adsense on my Tumblr blog which generates a fair amount, but I was wondering what else I could look into that my 'followers' would be interested in, and turning that 'interest' of theirs into some sort of revenue for me.

I really don't know where to begin with all of this internet marketing and I just want to get my feet wet. Right now I'm a college student just looking to get some extra free cash - I'm not looking into anything MAJOR for now.

Just wondering what my options would be as a starter, because the world of internet marketing is very daunting to me, but very enticing.

    It's great that you already have a presence online.

    If I were you I'd try and get those twitter followers to sign up to a list and use email marketing. I've never had much luck selling straight through twitter.

    I would suggest do affiliate marketing. So for example if you are writing about how tshirts are painted you can share something cool product of tshirt by which you earn commission.

    Similarly if you are writing about website speed you can share some good hosting sites.

    You can also sign up with commission junction, click bank and they have a huge affiliate site list.

    Other than that - other alternatives for google adsense are chitika, bidvertiser but buysellads is a good alternative better than chitika and bidvertiser

      Welcome to the Forum.

      There are several ways you could monetise your presence on twitter and tumblr.

      1. Sell advertising on fiverr. Fiverr is a community where you sell gigs for $5. So supposing your followers were mostly interested in something like fashion then you could offer to sell tweets or posts on your social media accounts for $5. Business who are in the fashion industry would buy this advertising off you.

      2. Find products that your followers are interested in. Then go to business who sell those products and offer to do promotions for them for a commission (this is affiliate marketing) or sign up for their affiliate programs.

      3. Set up a website and sell information to people on how to build a successful following of twitter/tumblr following. Many people are looking for information on how to build a big successful following.

      These are just a few of the many ways you could monetise your social media presence. I would only suggest that any promotions to send to your followers are in keeping with their interests and not too frequent.

      Post ads too often and you risk turning your following away.
