  Here is what I have been trying to solve my onset of carpal tunnel: I started taking breaks from my computer and started trying the b6 vitamins. The vitamins seem to work some. Just started trying that. Besides that you could try to get better ergonomics for your desk, chair, keyboard, and mouse. Also, look into the position you look at your monitor if you have neck pain. My main issue is numbness in my wrist and arms. So I am working on fixing that.
  
  I believe with a new desk and keyboard it should help. My desk was too high and put too much pressure on my wrist and arms. I believe that a laptop in itself is prone to give you issues cause the ergonomics are not great. That is why I am going to try an external natural keyboard and mouse lowered so that it is a more natural position. Also, a desk and good chair instead of using a coffe table. These should all help. Besides that you can get the keyboard and mouse foam cushions.
  
  I found this on carpal tunnel syndrome not sure if that is the same thing you got. Here is a thread from the old warrior forum on it. There is good advice there.The Warrior Forum - How do you guys deal with carpal tunnel etc?

Sometimes external forces push us to make that leap that we've been putting off.

I hope this works out well for you, whilst it's often sensible to have the back-up of a 'regular' income when starting out, it is sooooo liberating to be on your own.

Thanks Amy. Don't worry I plan on working my butt off.

I wake up early and the day goes so much slower and I get lots more work done now and I still get to sleep in couple extra hours

I'd love it a lot more if my wrists n arms weren't hurting LOL.

Hey, not matter what happens with your launch just keep moving forward and don't be afraid to scrap the dead wood. When I went on my own a few years ago it was a little nerve wracking but I soon learned that money truly does follow speed (more so because you don't have time to purposely find things wrong with the project)...

Plus I've bought a car recently and do have money saved up, so I'm in a pretty good position.

It is a weird feeling as I wasn't ready to quit work just yet, but it's perfect timing as I can now fully concentrate at whats on hand.

It can be a whirlwind of emotions at first. I've often said the worst day of IM is better than the best day of working for someone else. But, you know what I miss most? Birthdays! Because I don't get free cake every other week.

  Are you sure you don't have Carpel Tunnel Syndrome or something. It is caused by putting pressure on the wrist. You could get it by having bad ergonomics while using your computer. You may need to take a rest and let yourself recuperate. Otherwise it could be surgery. I have been having a recurring issue that I believe is the onset of Carpel Tunnel Syndrome. So I figured I would ask if you look in to that. I know my wrist starts to hurt or feel like it has pressure on it. Then if I persist to use my computer my whole arm starts to feel numb. My fingers go a little numb and then later my arm starts to feel a little number. If you persist you get this stinging feeling. I think that is a bad sign.
  
  I got me an ergonomic mouse pad so far. I believe I need to get a new desk so that I can position my wrist better when using my mouse. I may even get an ergonomic keyboard. Other than that I have been trying to limit my pc use until this goes away. I read an article that said you should take a break from computer use for several weeks to let yourself heal. My shoulder and neck have been hurting for years because of long hours at the computer. I'm used to it, and drink a lot ;-) so... it doesn't bother me much. lol.

A monthly trip to the Chiropractor helps too.

Wow, Ernie! I am happy for you. I would like to quit my offline job too but right now I just cannot afford it being a single mom and having to take care of an aging parent. Just the same, you have given me inspiration to just keep on keeping on.

By the way, your repetitive stress syndrome...is that the same as CTS? I had CTS before (think i still do) and it got aggravated when I got pregnant. Not that you will ever be pregnant! LOL. What has helped me with my problem are some exercises that I found online.

Now if I can just find that site....
