Does email marketing work?

I am looking to send valuable content to people with certain conditions to try and get clients, perhaps buying some data. Does this still work? any tips and trick you guys can share.

    Email lists are invaluable assets. For the most part, email marketing is still a CRITICAL component to any business, whether it's offline or offline. It should definitely part of your marketing mix.

      Yes, I completely agree with Dudeman.

      However, if by "perhaps buying some data" you mean buying email lists from someone, you must be extremely careful, since more often then not these purchased email lists are completely unresponsive because they have been beaten to death or aren't even in your niche to begin with.

      Best advice is to build your own niche targeted list (you can find PLENTY of info here on the forum on how to do it fast and effectively, but in a nutshell you drive traffic to a page were you give away a free valuable offer in exchange to an opt in) and go on from there.

    It is a base of your internet business. Once you have a list, you'll have it regardless of new Google updates, Social Media sites going out of fashion etc.
    You have to do it the right way though... Nowadays people are bombarded with tens of emails per day so you'll have to make your message unique and create a relationship with your list (I know, I know, everyone talks about it but it's True!)
    The bottom line is - it is an essential part of your business and if you won't focus on it enough you'll be missing out on a great opportunity!

    Entertain your list.

    Someone recently asked me how to make email marketing work.

    I said "entertain them".

    Some smartass replied "How will entertaining them let me make sales?"

    Someone like that just doesn't get it. It's my hypothesis that an attitude like that guarantees your failure. Because they don't give a damn about their prospects, they only want "Sales".

    If you don't entertain your list; by providing useful information, telling stories, and being a fun read, your prospects will never, and I mean EVER read your emails.

    Sure. Maybe they'll read your first open.

    But if you pitch them with boring dull content?

    Kiss them goodbye.

    That's how "entertaining your list" will lead to more sales.

    Want your prospects to stick with you, over the days, weeks, months, and years?

    Entertain them.

    Don't believe me? Think about this for a minute. How many instructional manuals are there on the planet that go unread? An infinite quantity really. People don't really need information.

    How many people enjoy being pitched, or enjoy watching commercials? Very few.

    But they love to be entertained.

    It's our society.

    I sent an email overnight here in OZ to my list, that I just started in JUNE. A new niche I am testing out. Its a list of 808 people, freebie seekers and not even buyers list. I sent them 2 videos over 2 days, and have already made $710.89

    For me that is not bad. As I can make most the time $1 - $2 per subscriber per month.

    No matter what any fool will tell you, I have noticed that with GMAIL updates and everything else, email marketing is working even better in 2013 than it ever has. You just have to do it properly, and offer value.

    Email marketing is the only way I've made any money at all.

    I'm still working at it, trying to build my list and developing a relationship with my subscribers before selling them anything. You want to make sure you're giving valuable information to your subscribers before jumping right into selling stuff to them.

    Build trust first, then do the selling.

      Even though you only have a few posts, you my friend are LIGHT YEARS ahead of most in here.

      You just gave away the secret on how to build multimillion dollar companies. I mean, what you just described here above, in all my testing works the best, in anything I have tested over the years. It far beats the pants of any other single investment or IM strategy by 1000%

      And most people think the less value, the more people buy, when it is the opposite. The more you give, the more inclinded people will buy from you.

      Plus the most important aspect to all this. Once you have 1 subscriber they are your subscriber for life until, THEY CHANGE THEIR EMAIL, or THEY UNSUBSCRIBE. So you have the chance to make lots of sales from just this one person. That is why lists are so unique.

      I have subscribers that have been with my for years. And yes, they still open emails, and they still buy stuff. The more of these people you have, the more money you will make period.

      haha! yes Alexa seeing this post makes me shriek. As I think they mean to BUY DATA is to buy an email list, that has already been spammed, and already bought 5 times over. haha. That will not do....it will not do at all.

      There was a time when there was a lot of talk (even in the warrior forum to my horror) about people buying lists and doing well....that is PURE BS.... the people that listened to that advice and ACTED ON IT, soon realized that it doesnt work, and is a quick way to break their bank.

      Best to start with building your own EMAIL list, and go from there.

        Well, this is exactly what I was wondering.

        If you're meaning "to buy a list", Millionair3, then the answer's overwhelmingly likely to be "no - that isn't going to work for you".

        You're in a forum full of people making their full-time livings from email marketing, and it unquestionably works. And there are 100 threads here explaining why so many different business models in IM don't work without email marketing (and that's also true of my own business: affiliate marketing, mostly ClickBank - that doesn't really work without email marketing). But will it work with a "bought list"? No, it's extremely unlikely to. And of course there are reasons for that. Because what makes the sales and produces the money is part of what made the subscribers choose you as someone whose emails they wanted to receive. Without that, you have almost nothing. Obviously, the words "choose you" don't really apply, if you buy the list instead of building it, so there aren't the same reasons to expect it to produce income for you.

        But I wasn't sure if you meant that. So I thought I'd better ask ... :confused:
