Advice needed on getting an Amazon API Key

Hi,

I'd like to set up an Amazon affiliate web site based on using a Wordpress site and the Amasin plugin, but to do this I need an Amazon API key. As the site will be based on the data provided by the API key and plugin, I can't build and demo the web site until I get the key. How do you get around this 'gotcha'?

What sort of web site do I need to get approval to use the API?

Any help would be appreciated.

    Go here:

    https://portal.aws.amazon.com/gp/aws...ityCredentials

Scroll down and you will see your API key and a link that you click to reveal your secret key, you will need both, I believe.

Thanks, but my question is 'How do I get an API key?' What sort of web site are they looking for before giving out a key - they insist on vetting your web site.

Why don't you take a look at Fresh Store Builder? No need to reinvent the wheel. They could answer all your questions and more.

You can set up a blog using Wordpress, for example, and then set up your site. I've got a couple now defunct storefronts using the API. *I'm not an active affiliate due to my state being cut off.

Thank you - this looks like a better idea - I'll check it out.
