Setting Up Gmail for another email account...

Hello Everyone
I am hoping someone might be able to help me with some googlemail advice, please
I have gone in Settings to set up an external email account but when I try to send an email using that account it says 'me@gmail.com on behalf of [other email address]'
That's not really what I want!
I'd like to get it so that it sends from the other email address.
Is that possible?
Thanks

    Follow these steps:

    1. Login to your gmail, click on the "gear" icon on the top-right
    2. Click "Settings" from the drop-down menu
    3. Click on "Accounts". Look for "Send email as" and click "Add another email address you own" to add the email address of your choice.
    4. Set it as default so that every email that you compose will use the email you just added by default

You could also download Thunderbird (email software) which can simplify having multiple email addresses. I've got so many now that it's the only way to make sense of them all. And they're all in one place. Just select the email account listed on the left and write a new email.
