    SEO
Paid traffic from PPC like adword
    Social media
    Video marketing

These strategies are enough to take you to thousands of dollars a month with the right site.

You're going to have to give us more than an emoticon if you expect responses.

Well I had a travel site and here are a few things that worked well:

1:Exchanging links with other travel website owners.

2:Writing articles for article directories with a link in the article pointing to my website.

3:Join travel forums, there are hundreds, then get involved in the conversations with
people and have a good signature file with a link to your website.

4:Create a hubpage which is travel related and upload photos of travel destinations.
(I used to get masses of traffic from hubpages)

5:If you have a travel website offer a free travel ebook guide to encourage visitors to
    join your list.

6:Once you have your free travel ebook advertise it anywhere on the web that you can
    advertise "free stuff".

7:Start a travel forum on your own website. You will keep people on your site longer and the search engines love forums, you will receive a ton of free traffic from Google after a couple of months.

    Hope this helps

Whether you're making a personal travel blog, or just tips for traveling photography will be the main factor so get some good photos, and set up a Pinterest page. People constantly repin travel photos which means visitors to your site.

    In essence adding content..

What that content is will depend totally on what your market wants...

Did you draw up a business plan before you started?

Its sounds like you haven't :-) Fail to plan plan to fail :-)

Look at you competitors ( you would have done this for your SWOT analysis and then that will 9/10 give you a direction at very least :-)

But all that being said we need more info on your site :-)

You can create a Facebook fan page. You should post your links and comments. Later you can use it in combination with Facebook ads.

    The obvious answer is Youtube.

Upload videos of your destinations, accommodations or whatever. Add good keywords. If people are searching for specific destinations and you optimize your videos well, you should get some traffic.

SEO and PPC are the top choice for this.
What is your travell site about? is it locally targetted for local tourism?

I would START with a mix of SEO and PPC. Once sales and quality traffic is coming through I would start implementing other methods as mentioned above.

If you have extensively traveled and you took Photos, videos,or made notes of where you went, then you could use all the infomationand make short travel log with your experiences and put them on YouTube and other social sites or blogs that have like minded people searching for information you have and put links back to your blog ,website, ect.
