Website development/creation resources?

Hello,

I'm in a middle of building a page on my site that has resources for web development.

This page is mainly aimed for people who have no clue in creating websites, so that should be somewhat basics and not going too deep.

So far, I have made 2 sections:

1) Website builders - WordPress, Dreamweaver, weebly, wix etc..
2) Images for your website - royalty free images etc.

But, I'm stuck.. I'm wondering what else could be important/useful for a complete rookie who is just in middle of setting up his/hers first website?

If anyone could help me out then I would be much appreciated!

Some additional things might be . . .

      Terms of service
      Importance of certain contact information
      Navigation basics
      Copywriting/headlines/call to action
      Linking basics
      Tags
      Site map
      Commenting/trackbacks
      Basic image use
      Usability/intuitiveness
      Content types, value, stickiness
      Archives

Probably other things as well. Think of all the things you want to see in place when you visit a web site.

  • Mandos,

I would include links to where people could learn basic things about code. You could also provide links to free code writing software like Aptana or Netbeans. Links to resources to learn about web development would also be helpful like teamtreehouse.com.

    Best,
