Europeans: how do you take payments?

I've been searching for a very long time to find a good payment provider. I would like to take credit card payments, recurring.

After this long search, I found Paymill, which looked great and easy... but after a lot of paperwork, code and more paperwork, my application still got rejected without reason.

I can find a lot of good providers, but they only work in the US or some other big countries... not the little ones in Europe.

Paypal isn't an option either, as they don't allow recurring payments in my country either.

I will keep looking, but if anyone can offer advice this would be very much appreciated.

    With pleasure

On a serious note. There are many various billing services for that. For example I'm used to work with 2checkout.com, which pays to almost any country.

I've seen 2checkout in my previous research, but I think 5.5% + 45ct per transaction is a bit much. This means I would give about 7% of my income to a bank, which I can't even explain to myself.

And that's the problem. Either they don't work in Europe, or they're too expensive, or they don't offer recurring payments. There's always a catch.

The lack of other convenient, low-cost options is perhaps part of how they get away with high fees. :p

The beauty of 2Checkout is that it's one of the ones that allows your customers to pay by PayPal without you needing to use it yourself. If you don't let your customers pay by PayPal, you may lose some business? So, you have to work out whether the inconvenience and potential loss make it worth your while using something like 2Checkout.

I’m in Europe – Greece, and I’m using Paypal. I learned that it recently added more countries to their system. One of my customers was from Serbia and she had to buy my ebooks through Clickbank, but later she told me that Paypal is working in her country too and she is using Paypal now. You could send a message to Paypal and ask them to add your country.

BTW, if you will decide to use Clickbank because you have an affiliate program you should open an account in dollars in your local bank; don't make the mistake to directly deposit the check to your euros account because you will have to pay many fees.

I can recommend PayPro Global. It has a very flexible subscription handling mechanism, advanced cross-sell and up-sells, good fraud check and many localized payment methods from around the world (including international ones like all credit/debit cards and PayPal)

They also offer full checkout branding, which is fully customizable, this gives a feeling of security to your customers, hence more conversions.

There is only a per transaction fee and no other obligations or hidden fees. A really flexible platform

This is definitely possible. As I mentioned in my previous post, the system is very flexible and it's up to you where the customer is redirected after the payment is made. Also, the thank you page can be combined with your on-site navigation menu and so on.

Let me know if I can set-up a demo for free for you and you see for yourself, there is no effort or obligations required on your side whatsoever. This demo is a mock-up of your personalized checkout incorporated into your website. You can see it in action.

Definitely, you can also add or remove form fields for your order page according to your criteria.
