Don't give up guys...

I just want to share some results I've been getting from Internet Marketing.

It's not much but I am fairly new to the game and I think I know what the biggest problem is for newbies like myself.

It is nothing new and I'm sure EVERYONE knows this already.

1. You need to have the right mindset, motivation, inspiration etc etc.

2. Take massive action.

Stop buying products. Stop learning new techniques. Stop wasting time. Stop asking for help.

Choose a method you think works best. Stick to it and apply everything you know about it. If you fail, try again and again and learn each time you fail until you make it through. The key is don't change from technique to technique.

Again, the results ain't that great and I am not here to brag. My only intention is to motivate others who have not earned anything or struggling to do so.

I hope this helps guys...

On the other hand - some people SHOULD give up.

How many times should you bang your head against the wall before you decide to stop?

IM is not some easy get-rich-quick program. Many people get up to making thousands of dollars a month and then it all disappears when Google change an algorithm or a new social platform or marketplace appears.

IM is at least as much work as a normal job, so if people think they can just play around and make massive money - they can end up spending way more money than they ever earn.

I've seen many people come here and tell others how to make money knowing full-well that they've spent more on IM stuff than they've made selling anything online, but somehow they think that because they made a few grand, that entitles them to tell others to do the same.

IM is not for everyone and if you find your relationships or finances are suffering because of the time you spend 'trying to make it' - then there's a good chance you should be doing something else.

With all that said - if you have the 'right' temperament and work attitude then IM can definitely be a great way to make money

I would assume that "give up" in this context means "online earnings". Everyone has some talent that they can use........maybe not online, but somewhere. There's a guy around here that is completely uneducated but makes his own money - he cleans dog poop out of yards. Serious. No real knowledge involved other than a familiarity with what dog poop looks like, a bag, and a pooper scooper.

So I guess we need to qualify what is being said as meaning "don't give up trying to find what YOU can do to create independence. Doesn't matter what, how, or where you do it. Just don't accept the idea because you aren't gonna make it in IM that you are finished as an independent person.

I started roughly half a year ago but only started taking action 2 months ago.

I pretty much fit in the category of "Shiny Object Syndrome" during the first 4 months.

Was overwhelmed, confused, frustrated, blaming and you know the rest.

It was only until I man up and took advice from successful people and started reading and listening to motivational speakers and personal development daily.

Got more focused and stopped buying products.

Doing PPC stuff as at the moment but I'm still learning whether I should direct link or capture their email first.

What do you guys reckon? Because it is cold traffic, I think getting their emails would be much harder and maybe they won't even see the sales page resulting in a potential sale.

    Any advice?

In the IM world people tend to jump from one product to another without realising, and at the end of the year either nothing or a few dollars to show for it.

This is a great example to stick with something and never give up until you have hit your goal, THEN try something new. Well done

It is said that knowledge is the key to success. If you are getting a lead in a particular field then keep working on it but it does not mean to abandon other avenues. Take one at a time and subsequently once you get better in the field then you may have several things going at one time.

Facebook PPC is pretty good. There are so many different theories and inconsistency with it though. Still trying to figure out why sometimes my ads gets disapprove whilst seeing other ads with 70% text on my wall or adult CPA ads getting approved.

Pretty annoying. But hey, one day when I figure it out. I can be the annoying guy

@LT guy - I'm totally with you on mindset and taking the RIGHT kind of action (which includes focusing on income producing activities and not continually doing what isn't working). And I applaud you on your results, but you do now realise people are going to flood this thread with "So how did you do it?"... because no actual method was revealed in your original post. I also suspect some people will feel frustrated at seeing 'success' numbers without any real idea of how to duplicate what you have achieved. With all that said, congrats.

So, what is the massive action you took to generate this income? You don't have to reveal the niche or the product, just letting people know how you promoted it would be quite helpful for those who are still struggling. For example, how are you generating traffic? You say you're playing with ppc now, but what were you doing before that is responsible for your success?

Hey guys, I didn't expect the thread to be a "How do you do it" thread, lol.

I'm using the simplest method out there, Facebook PPC.

The problem with what I am doing is I am NOT building a list.

I know its super important to send traffic to a capture page first but I really want to see some sales first to know that IM actually works.

My advice for you if you ever read this post is Log onto Facebook NOW and set up a campaign and set the budget to $5! DO IT NOW! TAKE ACTION!

Pick a product from clickbank, research the audience. Try and be as targeted as possible because (apparently) you get cheaper clicks with higher CTR (Again, these are theories that I've learnt so I'm not sure myself)

And just do some split testing, it's that simple and everyone already knows about this method. I think the main thing is take the correct action and stay focus.

I hope this helps! I'm not sure if this is allowed on the general discussion but I recommend "Traffic Black Book by Chad" because he goes in depth about split testing, conversions, optimizing and scaling. Pretty kool stuff.

If recommending a product is NOT allowed please tell me and I'll delete this post.

Although you are not building a list at least you have now proven to yourself that you can make money online. Now you might want to start looking at higher priced products to sell related to your topic, start building a list so that you can build a relationship and sell these on the back end to existing customers.

      Good luck

This is one of the better threads I've seen in a long time. Shout out to the OP for sharing at least that he is using facebook ads to get his traffic and posting results. This is (sort of) proof that facebook to Clickbank works.

While no one is going to show you an exact campaign this should at least be enough motivation to take $5 that you would have wasted on Lottery tickets, beer, or some other WSO and set up a facebook campaign. Remember you learn just as much about what doesn't convert as you do with what does. One way just feels better.

    Good Luck!

Hey, just so you know, you should definitely be sending people to a squeeze page instead of straight to the offer. Collecting emails and using your list to build a relationship and send offers is a much better idea. You need to experiment but it's a much better long-term option.

Plus, using "opt-ins" as a measure and method of tracking conversions, allows you to use software or Google Analytics to track which ads are converting better, thus pausing the crappy ads and putting more money into the good ones. It's all about split testing the ads and putting a lot of money into it up front.

If you need free advice about that just let me know. Basically it just involves using WordPress and having a unique URL for each ad and setting up Goals in Google Analytics. It's really easy to do.

    Hi Kev,

    That's pretty impressive actually.

I agree with your points actually about stopping buying and taking massive action, they are absolutely key to success.

The only thing I would add is that you need to monitor your traffic and see what your visitors are doing, where they're going so as to adjust your campaigns should the sales not follow.

Also, some advice for the newbie marketer would be to avoid Traffic Exchanges and Safe Lists like the plague. I know they are free, but the time you invest in them is not and you won't get this time back!

Also - especially with Traffic Exchanges - as the bounce rates would be disproportionately high the Search Engines would notice this and could penalize you!
