Hello, my question is..

How do you set up E-commerce Tracking in Google analytic's?

Want to set up tracking for my website conversions, for example every time i sell one copy of my Ebook id like it to be tracked as a conversion in Google analytic's

If there's any plugin's tools or step by step guide that you may know, id be very grateful.

thanks.

    Hello,

Some shopping cart software have Google Analytics integration built-in, allowing you to simply enter your Google account information. But you will still need to turn on Ecommerce tracking within Google Analytics (see details for that one extra step below.)

However, if you aren't using a standard ecommerce shopping cart that has Google Analytics integration, you would need to take a few extra steps as shown below.

Here are the steps you would want to take in that case:

    1. Sign into Google Analytics
    2. Click on "Admin" in the upper-right
    3. Under "View (PROFILE)" - select the appropriate profile, then click "View Settings" right under that dropdown list.
    4. Scroll down just a bit and set "Ecommerce tracking" to "ON"
    5. Click the arrow to go back to the main Admin page.

If you haven't already added the general tracking script to your site, click on "Tracking Info" under the "Property" column.

Copy the script provided and paste it into your website template so it appears in every page of your site. If you aren't sure what to do there, provide it to your developer or technical support person and they can put it in the right location for you.

    6. Click "Goals" under the View (Profile) column in the admin area.
    7. Click "Create a Goal" and give it a name like "Sale Completed". Choose the Type "Destination" Then click "Next"
    8. For destination, you want to paste the URL to your order confirmation page (the page visitors see after they place their order.) So if the order url is https://www.mydomain.com/thankyou.php you would specify "/thankyou.php" in that box.

If all of your sales will be the same amount, you can set the Value option to "ON" and enter a value.

If the value will be different depending on what users order, you will need to add an ecommerce tracking script to your order confirmation page (the page people see after they place an order.)

Honestly, that can get a bit technical and it is best if you have your developer or technical support person assist you with that. Here is a URL with the tracking script details:

For universal analytics (newer) - https://developers.google.com/analyt...csjs/ecommerce

    For classic analytics -
    https://developers.google.com/analyt...ckingEcommerce

    I hope that helps.

    Best of luck!

    Anthony
