Want to sell ebook as affiliate on an authority site

I'm new to this and I have an ebook with website/landing page ect set up, but I approached an authority site with tons of perfect traffic about doing a 30/70 split (30 to me) for my $30 ebook. I'm not sure how this would work? Should I go through clickbank or something? How will they know that every click through to sale is "theirs" versus just total sales?

Also any advice for a cheap/free shopping cart wordpress thing for paypal or credit card?

Also - any PDF delivery system that won't allow the purchaser to put the ebook online, torrent, or email to someone?

Thanks!

    1. I use iDevaffiliate - set your own affiliate program up, and affiliates can log in and view their stats at any time. I think i paid $99 for it though.

    2. I use Get DPD - stamps the buyers name and email address in the footer of every page of the PDF.

Theres no way of 100% protecting the ebook though.

All these questions are related and can be addressed with an all-in-one solution or you can look for separate solutions and "bolt" them all together.

In my opinion, it is worth paying for a shopping cart / payment processor / affiliate capability / digital delivery system rather than looking for a cheap free answer.

There are many ways to go. Most folks starting out probably use PayPal (which does have a shopping cart function) as their payment processor. Clickbank and 2Checkout are other popular options.

I have used e-Junkie successfully - they handle everything including product delivery and are very reputable.

    Good luck to you,

I worried about the piracy angle but I was convinced by a very successful clickbank author not to even bother with protections. Affilliates do a lot of protection for you. (search for a popular clickbank book and 'free pdf' and you will see it's all affiliates) Also, a lot of buyers find it annoying if you have protections, and it's really more important to go viral than prevent that leakage.

First off you have a very great idea that could maybe benefit both parties.

    But with that said...

Do NOT be expecting no REAL, legitimate authority site in your niche to take you up on your offer.

    It's just not likely.

    Why?

Well, what exactly do YOU and your product bring to the table?

The authority site owner doesn't know how well your product converts, if your product even converts at all, how good and enticing your sales page is, etc.

Also, I am pretty sure that there are hundreds of other book writers who have approached this authority site in the past and been turned down.

Now, I am NOT saying all of this to discourage you but instead to rather try and look at things from their point of view.

If you had a legitimate authority site, would YOU simply promote any old product that came your way WITHOUT reviewing it first, learning more about the product creator, etc?

Malcolm.. a little aggressive. Of course they will review it and we've got a call to discuss the program and terms. I have a unique perspective and no, for this niche there are not hundreds of authors hitting them up to promote.

I've signed up for commission junction and hopefully this will take care of my needs.
