Tips for marketing ebooks

Just looking for tips on marketing. I have a book written, but I have only made one sale so far in two months. Clearly, I'm doing something wrong.

    1. Quality, exclusive content.

    2. Main keywords in your tag.

    3. Select the proper category.

    4. Link from high profile blogs and relevant forums.

    5. That's it.

I have no idea where you are selling your book so it's a little hard giving you specific marketing advice because for instance if it's selling as a wso I would say your copy probably needs work for starters.

One sale in 2 months means you're not getting enough traffic and/or that your marketing funnel (if you have one) doesn't convert well (or both).

Assuming you have chosen the right niche and are delivering an ebook that solves a specific problem / issue/ need / want / etc. then there are plenty of ways to market it. Here are just a few ideas:

    1. Use the Kindle platform, but before you do, make sure you get some Kindle training under your belt. You can write a 20 - 50 page "lead" ebook on Kindle and use that to drive traffic to a squeeze page / blog/ authority website / whatever / depending on your business model and marketing funnel.

    2. Use the Clickbank platform and affiliate network. Make sure you have more than just one ebook to market though if you want to attract affiliates. Also make it easy for affiliates to promote you so test out some banners and make them available for use. Include some broadcast e-mails, maybe a free report or two with PLR that they can use to market your ebook.

    3. I don't know what your price point is and don't know who you are targeting but you might want to look into Jonathan Mizel's Half Cent Clicks (Google it) and test out some cheap traffic to see if it converts.

If you could give us some idea of what the book's title is, that would help us to help you.

You could have a good and popular book, but you may just have advertised it in the wrong place.

Giving us a little more info would help us give you more beneficial advise.

You should look over you landing page if you are getting a lot of traffic, as the conversions obviously aren't good. If you're just not getting enough traffic, try promote on social media or buy solo ads.

It depends on what you are selling?
Is there a market for the book?
If there is then you just need to drive some substanital traffic to the sales page.
If 1 in 100 visitors buy then you are doing ok.

How the heck are you promoting this book?

First thing first, before you write an ebook you have to make sure it has a good market then the remaining is left on your marketing skills..

Welcome to the delicate balance between producing high quality content AND actually being able to market/promote it to the point where it becomes financially feasible to do so. This isn't easy....

With the internet-age upon us, plus low barrier to entry, just about every niche is flooded with everything from low-quality to extremely high quality, passionate, and dedicated individuals attempting to capitalize.

I found that simply writing articles worked very well. I did some serious SEO/LSI, and, as visitors found those articles, I also had the opportunity to market to them....products that both I and them KNEW they wanted.

First of all, don't feel bad, this happens with at least 95%+ of other authors too. Most people write their book and even if it's amazing, it won't automatically sell really well (unless they get real lucky).

What you need to do now is to create what I call an "author brand". It's what will separate you from the zillions of other authors out there trying to sell their books.

How you create this "brand" depends on who you are, what your book is about, your target market and current positioning in that market, etc.

The good news though, is that you can go from selling a few books here and there to tens of thousands of books (potentially, depending on your book and market) which can be life changing.

If you are not good at selling it by yourself, you can join affiliate programs and let the professionals sell it for you.
