Submitting The Same Article to Different Directories...Good or Bad Thing?

Personally, I don't think it is all that bad, especially if you are getting traffic, not just seo stuff. You figure if there are 50 directories and you get a couple of hits per month from each article, it will increase over time. Probably the best thing is to watch your traffic and see if it helps, and don't limit yourself to one strategy.

I think its good for Traffic as far as SEO I'm not sure....the only site that gives me real seo and traffic benefit is Ezine Articles

It makes no difference at all if you use the original or change it .. Yes I have tested this so it is not just an opinion ...

With that said though - I suggest trying both methods out for yourself and test. It can be a good thing to edit the original for article directories and post the original to your own site / blog. By editing your article, especialy the title, it can give you more of wide range for using keywords... Why stick to one kkeyword if 2 or 3 are producing the same results.

Bottom line is test for yourself and your sites..

I'd say good for backlink building. You can get a lot of mileage out of a single article. I tend to submit articles to EZA first, wait until it is approved and then submit to another 10-12 high page rank article directories. I usually change the article headline, and maybe the anchor text in the resource box, but other than that leave the rest of the article untouched.

I will advice to change resource box and keep changing the paragraphs in the article to avoid duplicate contents

I have done some testing on this...

I wrote two articles and submitted them both through SubmitYourArticle.com (SYA).

With the first article I submitted it as it was without making any variations on it.

For the second article I used SYA's "Article Leverage" system which allows you to enter alternative titles, opening paragraphs, sentences and resource boxes and interchanges them randomly before submitting to directories.

I submitted my articles and then waited a month for things to settle down in Google and then I checked to see how many pages with my article on it had been indexed.

I found that I had double the amount of pages indexed in Google for the second article (using article leverage).

I have tried this experiment a few times, with very similar results and using SYA I have found that after a month I have around 20 indexed pages with my article on it (=20 backlinks) for a non changed article and around 40 pages for an article with modified versions.

My conclusions were:
- distribution spun version of my article doubled the number of backlinks. So in general this is worth doing as long as it is quicker for you to spin the article than it is for you to write a new one. It tool me about 20 mins using Article Leverage.

- Google does filter out pages from its results if they have very similar content on them. This makes sense as why would Google want to return very similar results to people who are searching.

I also repeated the same experiment using Article Post Robot software and got similar results.

Hey Phil.

Submitting the exact same article is not a good idea,
simply because a lot of directories do an Article DDC check.
This is a duplicate check and it can results in your article being
rejected.
The best option here is to find a software which has an article
spinner integrated into it, like I'm using.
That way, all my article pass all the checks

I learnt google normally hammer on duplicate content, thats why i do try as much as to submit my article to ezinearticle and one other article directory.
