The order of blog posts

Does the order of blog posts make a difference? The latest post goes on top but if you are showing people how to do something might it be better if the first post is at the top and they work their way down? If so is there a way to change the order of the posts in Wordpress?

    No. You don't need to change the order of the posts. Allow the most recent to come to the top. You might want to consider using a "related posts" plug-in if you're worried about people seeing the other parts, but they'll figure it out (as they have on every other blog in existence).

    OP, it's really going to depend on the way you personally want to display your content/information. Yes, there are wp plugins that can do what you're asking.

    But if someone sees the post "how to change your engine oil part 4" they're going to know there are 3 other parts. Also, at the start of your post you can link to the previous steps so that people don't have to search for them. "Before we discuss replacing the oil, you might want to read Part 3: How to remove the filter."

    Some cause-oriented hackers recently hacked one of my websites. So I researched what they're about and then donated a large sum of money to the entity they hate the most.

    The next time they hack one of my websites I'm going to donate DOUBLE.

    You can make a feature posts section that can be done as a plugin but no you dont need to worry about the order of your posts, its automatically listed from top to bottom according to date

    Yeh I don't worry about the order so much. But it is a good idea to have a related posts area. Especially if you have a step by step guide or a series of posts.
