Does anyone know of something that will automatically follow a user anytime they put in a keyword or something that will automatically add everyone that follows another person? Something that saves time from sitting there and clicking follow on everyone lol.

    1 word .....

    Hummingbird !!

Well actually Hummingbird is a paid piece of kit but to me its WELL worth the price. It will unfollow those that do not follow you back.... It will automatically follow and one elses followers etc ... You just click it to go and it will follow people

    Saves a stack of time

You could however just use the free tool here to do what you want I think - Huitter.com/mutuality - Twitter cheats, tweaks, tools

Hope that helps my friend !

Hummingbird is great but it comes with a quite expensive price tag.

Twollow is the free alternative to auto-follow:
Auto Follow On Twitter - Twollow

    Also free (and new alternative)
    Twollo: Twitter Auto-follow

Re: autofollowing on twitter, let me pose a serious question: If all people do is autofollow, when what is the purpose?

To my way of thinking about twitter, its best use is as a tool to build relationships, not gather as many followers as you can.

Maybe it's just me, but I don't think autofollows are the best way to go with twitter. Maybe you can get a lot of followers quickly, but that's like getting junk traffic to your web site: what good does it do?

Don't let your epitaph be: "Too many followers, nowhere to go!"

Thanks guy I will be sure to check that out. And the more followers means more potential relationships and sales. Thats my opinion, if you never try to befriend them then how do you expect to build that relationship. Thats why I am interested in keyword follows and following certain people. For instance if someone says golf, golfing, or golf lessons in a tweet then I follow them and they do follow me. Then I got a fairly well targeted lead.

Yup, I signed up for TweetLater.com today too. So far I've increased my followers by a few hundred just today, so I'm excited about it

Of course I had to start following more people, but hey, I'm sure it'll be worth it in the end.

Just to put things straight here...

Tweetlater allows you to autofollow the people that followed you.

Twollow and Twollo (see my previous post in this thread) autofollows people that haven't followed you yet.
It does this based on "interests" and "keywords" posted in the tweets.
Or you can simply autofollow all followers from someone you like (without the need to click hundreds of times "follow".

Hope this clarifies things a bit.

twollow does it but i hate autofollow

Thats because i only follow porn stars, bodybuilders and internet marketers.

Auto follow definitely seems to work for building the followers though.

Maybe you could follow everybody on twitter then filter the twitter RSS feed to only display the ones you "really" want to follow.

Our product is an autofollow machine -- It puts your follows on autopilot. Just sign up for the service and it runs every day and adds people that are likely to follow you back. You don't have to load any software or remember to do anything each day. It does everything for your from our servers.

We are currently working on a search and geographic targeting feature -- just enter a search phrase or a location and it will prioritize those people for your daily add.

Everyone has their own strategy for Twitter, but I'll submit that having a list of 20K+ followers that you can monitor for keywords in the twitter stream with Tweetdeck is a heckuva lot more useful that having 500 people that you had to search out and add by hand.
