FireFox CaptureFox Issues Anyone?

Hey Warriors,

There's a new, (well maybe it's not new, but I just found out about it today), FireFox AddOn called CaptureFox that allows you to do screen captures within FireFox.

Cool idea, but...

Every time I open the program and try and start a recording, FireFox simply closes out.

Is anyone else having this issue?

Interesting - I discovered just today, and have the same symptoms. Running Windows Ultimate, FF v3.0.10. Installed twice, reboot computer... Tried different capture options. Crashes Firefox every time. Have not seen any resolutions.

I use Fireshot for FF screen capture. Have not had a single tiny problem with it, and only installed it after seeing a few recommendations from other people here. It does work well.

Fireshot only does image captures. The plugin under discussion, CaptureFox, does video captures. Apples and oranges.

OK I didn't realize that. Thanks for adding the information. More communication usually helps.

If you select the shape tool you can save a rectangle portion of the page you are looking at. Really handy with Gimp.
That's another cool add-on, but Capture Fox is a bit different in that it allows you to actually film what you are doing in FireFox much the same as tools like Camtasia.

FireShot appears to be more of an image and screen shot type tool unless I'm overlooking something.

On a side note - try Screengrab! for screenshots - you'll love it!

I was having the same problem with the public release version of CaptureFox crashing Firefox (v3.0.10). Running Windows Ultimate. Every time that I started a capture, FF crashed. Anyway, I tried the latest experimental release of CaptureFox and it does NOT cause a crash. Might give that a try, but of course it is listed as experimental, so take care.

I think they are having it for testing, you should have it reported.
