Translate Question - Worth Letting Google Do It?

Hello everyone, I am doing very well now with my clickbank sales have had 8 sales now with a total of $136+

I have noticed alot of my traffic is coming from Russia, As thats where my niche is most popular,

I have got the sales page and everything else emails ect are english,

If the user is using chrome which a good % of them are would the page be translated automatic by chrome? As if i email an email or visit a site with different language my browser offers to translate for me.

How can i see if this is the case? I am not to good with Russian funny enough and i don't fancy paying a translator if i can find out how well it translate's,

Possible any Russian members fancy testing it for me? I dont know, Maybe someone can shred a bit of light on this.

I am aware that any images i have created will not be able to be translated via browser, But if i can work out that my plain text translates i can create my text images into Russian, As i can use a translation program for this, just don't want to translate my whole site using a program and it makes no sense, As i wont be able to read it.

Thank you,

I dont fully understand what you are asking. Rephrasing your question is a good idea.

I will attempt to answer it anyway.

If a visitor is from Russia and he is visiting an English website, I think Chrome will automatically propose to translate the page. Just like people from the US visiting Russian websites will get that same option.

Apparently Chrome offers to translate pages in languages that are not in your Chrome settings as Preferred Language.

Look on fiverr.com for Russian translations..they will test your site or do anything you ask them.

  • If you are asking if an online translator is reliable enough in order to use on a website and come across as professional, the answer is no. Most of your visitors will be turned off by bad language use.

Similar to English speak audience that visit page sales written by English no speaking marketer who attempting communicating in bad really English. <---- (a joke).

Just because you are getting a bunch of Russia traffic, make sure that its Russians that are purchasing and not the few Americans that are on your site. Just my 2 cents. I see more people make this mistake then who are actually selling products to foreign countries.

Your question is a bit unclear. However, I'd do what one of the previous posters said and hire somebody off of Fiverr with a high amount of good reviews in Russian translation and get it translated if you need it.

You really need to know where the purchases are coming from. I get a very high percentage of spam comments from Russia on my low traffic blogs.

Are you asking whether to rely on Google Translate? Don't use it for professional purposes.
Given I am bilingual, I put it to the test not long ago and, well, the results were a mixed bag. I got some incredibly well-constructed sentences, followed by some truly awful ones.

Thanks everyone, Dani0157 thats great! just what i needed to read.

Well i am not using the translation software just wanted to know if chrome's auto translate detection will pick up my english,

My other issue is the only products related to this niche are written in English, Again i am no expert at writing as you can tell by the question so i am un able to create my own product relating to this niche as of yet.

    My sales Come From
    USD - 3
    GE - 2
    GBP - 1
    DE-1
    AUD - 1

The sales are in traffic order too, So USD Gets the most traffic/sales, Although i may have more Russian visitors this week,

I really need to come up with a solution i have to target these customers with good content but how can i if nothing is in Russian yet? Someone must of experienced this before.

    Thank you.

I think i might no what you're on about. I'm English and live in Moscow.
Usually, chrome will auto translate pages into Russian (extremely annoying btw). this can be overridden of course.

If your end product is in English and you're worried that a possible Russian customer might accidently make a purchase, thinking it's in Russian, you could just add a disclaimer saying - product is in English (язык: Английский).

As to the other comments on Google translate, yeah, it's no good for a sales page or anything else really. machine translation just isn't there yet. you could crash the text through google translate and give it to a russian to edit (editing is typically 50% of the translation rate), although this is not very ethical and it's usually obvious. When i translate into Russian, i usually run the text thru G translate, then manually go through the entire thing and then send it to an editor and finally a stylistic editor, or get my gf to do it

    1. If their Russian translation is anything like their Chinese translation, then the answer is NO - not good for much of anything but kinda, sorta, getting the gist of the page.

    2. I get a lot of Russian traffic too. Almost all of it appears to be looking for ways to add spam comments or links. Before I went to the trouble of any translation based on that traffic, I'd be clearer about exactly what they are doing when they get to your site.

I would take the $136 you've made so far off the sales, and use that to pay for a better translator .

The automatic type translators are good for trying to understand what you're reading, but these translations don't always work for native communication.

I would either keep it English, or pay for a better translator service.

that would only be the case if they were really from Russia. They could just be people using proxies to hide themselves.

When I translate some lines on google translate, it really ruins it's meaning.
I would suggest to spend some of your money on a professional translater to make sure you do quality work.
