New web/software Development Local Business

I recently started a local business that offers alot of web/programming services as well as design and motion graphics.

I am in a big city with other similar businesses as competition, only their quality is much lower.

The problem is, I am nowhere new ranked in search engines like they are, so no business coming to me.

I know that I need online marketing and hopefully get up in the search results.

I am looking for some advice as how I should go about this (don't have much money yet), but really would like SEO Master(s) as partners/affiliates that can help me with SEO in exchange for my services and setup a referralfor when I need SEO for clients I can refer to partners.

Thank you.

If there is a better place to post this in the forum I apologize and would love some suggestions/help

    Hi!
Have you looked into search engine advertising instead of seo? Seo is a long and usually expensive process. you can test adwords to see if website visitors want to buy your service. If they are converting you could invest money and time into seo. If not, you can start optimizing your website for conversions or look into selling your service in other places - fiverr or freelancer.
Alternatively you could recognize a business need and create (porgram) a product around that need and then sell it.

it's a local business, right? you're targeting a local community, right?

since your business is new and your website is also probably new and google hasn't crawled/ranked it yet, then perhaps you can start using traditional marketing techniques like distributing flyers, newspaper inserts, actually going about and talking to the local business owners, etc.

you actually have an advantage over global competition as most businesses would like to engage local service or product providers as this greatly serves them better if the provider is just a stone's throw away from them whenever they need after-sales service.

oh, i forgot to mention that when i started my hosting business 10 years ago, i first targeted the local businesses in my area. i quickly gained a lot of clients that way.
