Is PayPal Working For The NSA?

Forgive me for the title thread, I don't actually think they work for the NSA but this post does beg a few questions.

So I sold a website of mine last night, the guy sent the money through via paypal.

Today I began closing off all of my business registrations so decided to call paypal to change some things on my account, the guy says to me "Oh, are you calling about the limitation on your account?" so I'm like "No, what limitation?" he then begins to tell me that because I received a large sum of money into my account last night that they decided to limit activity on my account so it was good that I had called so that I can explain the transaction to him...

Doo duu doo duu doo duu

The whole time I'm talking to him I was thinking to myself that I was dreaming or something, serious twilight zone moment folks when you can't use your business account to do business via a payment processor without being questioned as to the legitimacy of the payment and then have a limitation placed on your account without even being notified.

Now it's illegal for a business to make money is it PayPal? Isn't that what businesses do? That is akin to a coach asking his star quarter back why he came to training or a parent to their child why they got an A+. It's just absurd.

The sum of money was not even that high it was in the low range of four figures plus my account was registered, verified and all above board as well as me never having a single complaint against my name... add to that the fact the sale was all listed in the description and following that another payment from me to the third party sales merchant should have stuck out to them like dogs you know what!? Dumbasses!

In the end I explained the story and hence explained that was the reason why I was calling (to make some changes because of that sale) to which he understood and said he would get the changes underway for me. But that is not the point here. Good customer service can never hide flaws in the business model.

PayPal needs to check itself before it wrecks itself. Everyone knows paypal has left itself wide open to scams yet they think that bureaucracy will fix their security flaws.

There is a great quote that I love from Jacque Fresco which is fitting at the moment "When a nation cannot find a solution to a problem it creates a law". PayPal is not a nation but you get the picture...

PayPal, if you are reading this - fix your security issues and go after the real scum bags and stop harassing business people or else we will all end up leaving.

This really was an irritating problem. I had a similar problem with Paypal recently. Their support team is ridiculous…

PayPal are just dumbasses in my opinion who struck it lucky by getting in with eBay. Thats the only reason they got big.

When I upgraded my account to business, they limited my account, when I sent my business registration details which they provided no option to do earlier without limiting my account they said I had to wait for verification they then said they couldn't verify because my business registration because it was not a business (doo duu doo duu doo duu, lol), I then had to ring and explain to the manager how they segment the business types in Australia, and explain what the registration meant because apparently his customer service staff had microchips inserted up their butt holes and only knew black and white "yes" and "no" answers and didnt have the cognitive ability to process something they had not been trained to do before, lol.

They are quite powerful online, and this is why they don't care... They act as if only you needed them.

So I just got off the phone to PayPal and apparently my account is under review without full access for the next 24-72 hours... what a joke, like I say -dumbasses, complete dumbasses.

Im not even frustrated anymore, I'm just amused by the whole thing

The email explanation went along the lines if "Like a banks we have to do blah blah blah bullshit..."

Umm no, your not a bank and your not like a bank... I was able in the same day to shut down not one but two of my bank accounts with only a phone call.. dumbasses.

OK so just logged into my PayPal after this whole debacle and now they are giving me 39 days to provide information such as my proof of identity (done this before) my proof of address (done this before) proof of business registration (I un-registered my business and they have my original business registration) and proof of my transaction (lol what?),

This is so friggin ridiculous, I hope Escrow kicks their dumbasses.

Paypal sucks man, I feel your pain! Whenever Ive had to deal with them I got this feeling like I was talking to the god damn FBI! Whats the point of processing payments if they seem to HATE payments? LOL, I really hope that some new company will come in the future and kick their damn ass out of the street!
