I am looking for reseller hosting. Hostgator seems to have very high reviews, but I am looking for a little better deal than what everyone seems to be jumping on.

resellerspanel.com looks like it it offering a unique deal to me, but the reviews of them I have found so far are mixed.

Does anyone have any advice on resellerspanel or other services that are good?

I apologize if I am starting this thread in the wrong area.

What type of "better deal" are you looking for?

Lower price? More bandwidth? More storage? Better level of service?

I personally use LiquidWeb at a VPS level for reseller hosting and am extremely pleased. But I have some larger more robust websites running on it. But it is more than a $25 reseller account (I pay about $75/mo. but am really happy with what I got!)

If you give us a better idea on what you are looking for, someone should be able to point you in the right direction.

BTW, whenLiquidWeb says "Heroic Support" they are understating how good their support it.. at least in the few cases that I have had to use them, even if to ask a question about something that I should have already known.

Thank you for your replies. I guess I am basically looking for something that is reliable but not too expensive. Hostgater had great reviews, but I would like something cheaper than their basic $25 a month package. I think part of their cost is their good name.

On the other hand, I have just learned the hard way not to skimp on crappy hosting with too much down time. So, if that is what I have to pay for reliable hosting, than I want to go with something relatively safe like hostgator.

Anyone had any firsthand experience with resellerspanel.com ?

From my experience, $25 is already too cheap and HostGator is probably the best for the cost for most people.. that is why they are so popular.

At the $25 level, you are typically having a shared hosting environment to begin with. I don't think HostGator or ResellersPanel give you a VPS at that price. So, one of your clients could in theory take down the server. Of course, the companies are usually quick at monitoring it and would 'kill' that customer's server.. but that can be additional customer service that you would have to deal with.

I haven't used ResellersPanel (just HostGator and a few others,) but the one thing that I heard that helps set them apart, as being a UK based they allow their customers to choose between hosting within a UK or a US located data center. If you have UK customers, this might be a deciding factor.

Another thing to look at is their standard reseller hosting is their own control panel verses cPanel. Some customers do not have a preference, some do. So you might need to take that into consideration.

Checking google, there seems to be a split on positive and negative reviews of ResellersPanel (and well, pretty much any hosting company.) But the one thing that came up a bit was problems with email servers. YMMV.

Yes Hostgator has great reviews, because they're big and they pay good commission to their affiliates.

Read their TOS before signing up. You know those small sentences that they don't want you to see before signing, but they will shove it in front of your eyes, whenever the time comes! and believe me it will, sooner or later...

Been with them for over 2 years, and today everything I had in there was hacked and they didn't even had a back-up for me, because the iNodes (files) exceeded the 50,000 limit. And supposedly they say they have everything unlimited and unmetered. Yeah right!

So please be careful, even if you sign-up with them, do your own back-ups, to avoid future problems.

I've been checking for hosting myself and found this "Ace Internet Hosting Plans", they're fast, friendly and have very affordable reseller hosting prices. And most importantly they don't have iNode limits. Been with them for only couple of months now and so far no problem, but kind of too early to tell if they OK or not.

Anyway good luck with your search.

I didn't realize that putting a link like that was considered spamming, but I did remove it immediately when asked. Could you please remove the warning flag?
