Hello Warriors!

I run a internet marketing website that provides seo etc. Im in the process of getting an explainer video finished. Whats are your thoughts on women voiceover's compared to men? Im trying to find out which would give off the upmost professionalism, authority & trust. Thank you!

    I think professionalism applies to both voiceover however if a product is female-oriented you may consider a female voice, but since you consider SEO I think either would work as long as the voiceover actor has the necessary equipment and experience. Good luck

    Without getting into sexism which is pretty much impossible given the question. I'll give my two cents.

    Women's voices and do say sense of comfort and belonging, bringing one another. Together in a emotional security atmosphere. This is been dull developed through evolution, as womens largest Over the evolutionary timeframe Has been proven to be to be childrearing.

    It is good to have a woman's voice to induce such a feeling as well as a man to establish power and authority. This of course is based on scientific evolution research.

    There's a lot of information associated with this topic which I cannot even come close to replicating in such a short amount of time.

    This information is very vital to anything you do online and will help you.

    You have to split test to know for sure. No matter what anyone here says, each campaign is unique and you never know until you split test.

      It's funny because normally what I do is actually give some credible advice and then say something like what was quoted above hahaha

      So I guess I can say I agree with you 100%, but left with curiosity whether or not you have any input on this particular topic.

    I've done plenty of audio split testing with PPV traffic. I tried different genders, different accents, real humans vs computer voices... I can honestly say that I was frequently surprised which voice did best for each campaign. Often it was the one I thought was the worst, or most robotic, or whatever. But that's PPV, and often time PPV is all about interruption.

      Man I give you kudos for working in the PPV field. I myself can't make that profitable worth anything while maintaining my integrity... Seriously, there's a lot of shady stuff going on in that field, as you know.

      It's hard to compare get good study statistics from PPV , given its tactics, so I don't blame you for not immediately sharing right away but appreciate the added info. My curiosity has been fulfilled.

        This is the most sexist thing I've ever said, but I believe the public perceives it this way. Woman's voice for sales man's voice to explain technical stuff. If you look you'll see the same thing on commercials.

          Based on the feedback we get from out clients I can 100% agree with that. If you want to explain technical SEO terms, use a male voice. If you want to sell, use a woman's voice-over.

        Clint I completely agree with you. PPV is tough, and it's a dark corner of the internet, lots of shady characters. Ever since I started IM about a decade ago it was never a question with me, I had to do it ethically. I'm currently testing a PPV campaign for list building, I haven't done much PPV in the last year.

          Generally speaking, I think women engender more trust, but I agree that testing must decide.

          Thought experiment: You're walking down a dark alley and see two men approaching you. Then you notice a woman is with them. Do you feel a sense of relief?

    You are looking at it the wrong way, as you are generalizing males and females.

    As a graduate of the National Institute of Broadcasting in Toronto, and also having worked with hundreds of voice artists, and companies who hire them, I can tell you that each project requires a certain "feel", or "mood", etc, which can be delivered by either a male or female. I have heard masculine authoritative females, and I have heard feminine sounding males, thus in the end, you will need to find that certain person, whether male or female, who can deliver what you need for your project.

    If you check in all the major sites, explainer video contains male voice over because its look professional.

    8 out of 10 clients of my explainer video service always prefer male voice over
