[NEW VENDER ON CB] Any Tips?

Am in the process of finishing up my first product and launching it on clickbank,

I have not set up my vender account yet "The $49.95 fee"

Does anyone have any experience how well products actually sell on clickbank? I mean i have made some money through affiliate selling on clickbank, but i want to make sure i will start getting sales,

Do i have to do much promotion? Or will affiliate's find my product and start promoting? Its quite a good health care ebook!

I trust your product is a lot better than this.It needs to be! Maybe you are being modest.

I have a CB product and found that affiliates found me quite quickly. It is not in the marketing niche. Having said that, 4 or 5 of them account for all the sales. The other affiliates only make occasional sales.
There is a site called CBEngine that lists the new CB products on a weekly basis. I think a lot of affiliates watch this list. I know I do.

    Good Luck with your product

Don't rely on affiliates to drive your sales. If you're lucky they might, but really you need to drive sales and traffic yourself. You are the world's number 1 expert on your product, and the most motivated person to sell it.

I suggest you look at Miles Baker's site, clickscoop.com, and harvey segal's clickbankguide.com as there is tons of great info on both. There's also a clickbank section (not nearly as extensive) on my blog eBook & Internet Publishing News

        Good luck!

This is a good point. Thanks Sunil. Having said that I have 4 or 5 good affiliates, guess who is the top affiliate. Me. I account for about 40 - 50 % of sales and I don't even have to pay an affiliate for them.

          However....

I remember in the early days (when I knew nothing) that all of the sales came from affiliates because I didn't know HOW to make sales as an affiliate.
I know a little better now.

Thank you for all the advice guys,

One other thing i have noticed alot of top converting products are video sales pages, just a sales page with a video, Do you like them? Do you think they work.

I was planning on going with the more standard sales page.

Without access to the vendor's ClickBank account, there isn't a way of knowing which are the "top converting products". That information isn't published. (Beware of third-party sites claiming spuriously to be able to "work out conversion rates" from their "secret proprietary algorithms": it's all nonsense - they have access to no information that you and I don't also have access to.)

(They're often not the ones you'd think they are, though ... especially if you try to judge it from the "gravity" figures!).

It doesn't matter what I like. It matters what my customers, subscribers and traffic like. They can't stand them, and they say so (unprompted) frequently. As a full-time affiliate, I'm unwilling to send any of my traffic to them at all, because they don't convert my traffic nearly as well as text sales pages. In every niche in which I'm involved. Other's people's mileage may vary (and probably does) - but I have broadly similar traffic demographics in all of my niches, because of the way I generate my traffic, and I know they like text and dislike video, and that's putting it mildly.

              I would.

But don't expect any good affiliates to start promoting your product just because it's listed there.

You need to start by having proven conversions of targeted traffic before looking for affiliates.

Briefly, there are two big mistakes you need to avoid, in this context ...

              (i) It's much easier to attract serious, pro-affiliates than it ever is to re-attract them if you've had them once and lost them, so what matters is knowing that you can retain them before you start promoting your affiliate opportunity to them. Even if you manage to attract the best affiliates in the world, if your sales page doesn't convert their targeted traffic, you'll lose them all and not be able to get them back. So you need to have that all fully tweaked and tested and proven before taking affiliates on board;

(ii) Be aware that 95%+ of the available ClickBank affiliates make very, very few sales, and there's a far smaller group of serious, pro-affiliates who make almost all the sales. Don't make the mistake of "trying to appeal to as many affiliates as possible" if doing so might involve losing some of the pro's you need. The aim is to make as many sales as possible, not to have as many affiliates as possible, and they're typically two very different things. Make sure that your product and sales page appeal to the pro's. (There are some suggested product-selection criteria for affiliates here: looking at it from your perspective, as a vendor, I think these are - broadly speaking - the kind of criteria you should probably want your product and its sales page to satisfy, to attract the most successful affiliates: http://www.warriorforum.com/main-int...ml#post2161932 )

              And good luck!

If you go the CB route, then focus on affiliates. That really is a big key to any product creators playbook, but CB is created to make it easy on affiliates, so take advantage of that.

If you can find a few regular promoters, you're set. Make it easy for them to make money with your product is the key. Always be improving your conversions and keeping affiliates up to date on future products they push. They love you when they know you're there to help them... which in turn is just helping you make more money and good friends

Keep in mind, you can't just list your product and expect affiliates to hop on board. You'll have to do some outreach and like I said, make friends.

Look into doing a JV launch... basically this involves getting other people in the health niche with large lists to promote your product when it first comes online at clickbank. This will get you guaranteed sales (if your sales letter converts worth a dang) and a lot more attention faster then you would normally get if you just waited for people to find you.

I can't vouch for how many, or even if affiliates will actually find your product
to sell on Clickbank. I'm sure you will have to get the word out some how to
    let them know.

Ken's idea about the CB Engine sounds like a good start. And it wouldn't hurt
to register with a few 'Affiliate Program Announcement Forums' either. I've just
    done this recently actually.

Here are the ones I used:

    5 Star Affiliate Marketing Forums
    New Affiliate Program Announcements
AffiliatesDirectory.com - The Affiliate Programs Directory: Home Page

    And of course Allan Gardyne's:
Affiliate Marketing - Learn Affiliate Marketing From an Affiliate Programs Veteran

I've also started to keep a special folder in my gmail that collects promotions
from other marketers and I'm letting them know about my product. But I'm
finding this a little tough going as they don't know me... yet.

Maybe signup for newsletters related to your subject. And contact the list
owners to tell them about your new product.

Another idea is to search Google for forums related to your niche. Look to
see if they have a 'Private Message' system. If they do contact the owner
and make a deal to promote your book, as they can send a PM to all of
    their members.
