It would be very difficult to make $500k a year on free traffic alone. Also, SEO is not free.

Paid traffic sources provide some of the best targeted traffic, the big guys know their market well and can start paying for big media buys where they are targeting a demographic as opposed to a search term. Big money there.

You can start making money with free traffic day 1.

    It's a very subjective term.

There are even threads here discussing what "superaffiliate" means, and not many people seem to agree about it.

So that isn't going to be easy to answer.

There are plenty of people here making six-figure incomes from affiliate marketing only, though, and maybe a small number making a seven-figure income from affiliate marketing only.

With SEO?! It's hard to imagine that search-engine traffic could lead to an income like that, from affiliate marketing, isn't it? I don't know.

It seems to me that search engine traffic is about the lowest quality you can get, for "selling stuff". Personally, I tend to advise people not to put much time, effort and energy into trying to attract "organic SERP's" traffic, for two main reasons: first, it's very precarious and makes your business Google-dependent, and any business that's Google-dependent is no more than one algorithm-change away from a potential accident (or even a potential disaster), as so many Warriors have been finding out over the last year or two, some of them to their very great cost; secondly, for me, search engine traffic has been uniformly the worst-converting traffic out of everything I've ever tried in 8 entirely different niches over the whole of the last 4 years - search engine visitors to all my websites typically stay the least time, view the fewest pages, opt in the least often and actually buy anything by far the least often. I admit I do get tons of search engine traffic to all my main sites (just because of all the high rankings I've got, incidentally, from article syndication to relevant sites) but I'd certainly hate to have to make a living from that traffic! Google rankings, in short, are usually not really much of a "traffic-generating plan" at all: that traffic's very poor quality and often temporary, too. Just reading this forum regularly will convince anyone of that.

It depends how you look at it. Some people say there's no such thing as "free traffic". If you're not paying with money, you're paying with time, effort, energy and acquired skills, which amounts to the same thing?

I don't pay (money) for traffic, myself, at the moment.

I think different highly successful affiliates have different traffic-generation plans. There are plenty of them described in the forum. I think perhaps doing a search for threads in the Main Marketing Forum (only) with the words "traffic" in their titles will help you a lot.

Longer than it takes in a non-competitive niche.

The "HOTTER" a niche is, the harder and slower it's typically going to be.

Kind of the opposite of what you imagined, maybe? Many people misunderstand it, but it's true, and there are very good and reliable reasons for it.

    It's explained here: http://www.warriorforum.com/main-int...ml#post8561081

It may also help you to understand that in affiliate marketing, it isn't typically the site itself that makes the income: it's the list generated from the site, and that point's explained in these few little threads ...

What are the best ways to promote click bank products? (ignore the fact that it specifically mentions "ClickBank", if you want - that's just an example: it's the underlying principle and the reasons for it that matter)

Is it a good idea to spend some time on building a mailing list ?

Without Building a List, How Consistent is Your Income from Affiliate Marketing

Does anyone even make money online without an email list?

Seriously, I promise I don't mean this impolitely in any way, but it will help you to formulate better questions to ask here, if you read some of those threads, and develop some understanding of the basics, because at the moment your questions - here and in other threads - aren't good (i.e. helpful-to-you) ones at all.

Q: Is there any super affiliate on the board?
--> By most people's definition of "super affiliate," there aren't many of them in the industry, period. If there are any on WF, they are lurking or not saying much to tip their cap.

Q: Can an affiliate cross half million a year with SEO? or Free Traffic?
--> Unlikely, though possible. Once you get to that stage I think the affiliate label isn't really appropriate anymore. You are moreso a web developer using affiliate programs to monetize the site. So now you're opening up a whole new can of worms by asking what it takes to build a site that gets so popular that it can generate that kind of income.

Q: What super affiliates do to get the targeted traffic?
--> Assuming they don't have a major web property, buy advertising.

Q: How long does it take for an affiliate website to start making money in HOT niche with organic / free traffic?
--> A new site relying on free traffic..... I wouldn't plan on much in the first year at least.
