Is Reselling PLR Worth the Effort?

I'm debating on whether or not to buy some plr packages and turn them into a video training series.

Is selling reworked PLR content worth my effort? I'm thinking I'd take the content I buy, create the videos, then offer the text versions as an unannounced bonus.

I've never done it and want to get some advice before taking the plunge.

Thanks.

It depends a lot on your target market. I sell "out of the box" PLR every day. The people who buy it don't have a clue that it's PLR or even what PLR is.

If you are going to alter it you might as well create your own. The whole point of PLR is to be labor free. I buy it, upload it to the server and start selling it.

What are common ways to get traffic & sales from a PLR? Do you just get traffic like everything else, such as using Facebook Ads, Youtube Videos, Sales Page, WSO, JVzoo/Warrior+, etc?
Or do you use it so that you can sell the product to your own audience on your website/email list and get 100% profits?
Or do you use it as a free offer to give away on an email opt-in form & build your list or something of that sort?
How do most people put a PLR to use?

      Bulls Eye

Most of the people you sell it, will not even know what is PLR, MRR and such acronyms... Most of the newbies are like that (and probably you are going to sell that to newbies)

I do a lot of advertising and Youtube videos.

This is exactly how I make the majority of sales.

Or do you use it as a free offer to give away on an email opt-in form & build your list
Yes. I also use it for OTOs.

How do most people put a PLR to use?
    There are many varied uses.

To me, the best way is to turn current PLR into a different format, just like your talking about. Best yet, it's then exclusive content that no one else will have.

With more people looking for video, it's a great format to convert to.

    Just my two cents

Its always worth it if the content is not crap. But even if its well written, rewrite it a lil bit(at least) and make it yours. Tweak and add uniqueness.

That's a great idea; main product video training series and pdf as bonus. Go for it.

How about creating mini viral reports with your links inside and spread em like wildfire accross the net? Have you ever thought about it?

This is one of the common ways. Only one problem; it requires some hard work by your side.

There are simply ENDLESS of ways.

      Just to name a few;

      - load em in an autoresponder as a follow up sequence
      - run a membership site
      - create reports
      - online courses/email series
      - combine em to create a mini ebook
      - video products
      - create an ebook, put it on a cd and sell it on ebay
      - unannounced bonuses
      - sell em on tradebit

      and more..

      Good luck.

I think turning PLR into video is a great way to make the content unique to you. And then providing the text versions like you said is also a good idea because it will satisfy the different kinds of learners.

Although it will take effort to turn the PLR into a video series, it still saves quite a lot of time to research and write a script. That is, as long as you are able to find quality PLR that really fits your niche. Personally I do like to add some extra info or anecdotes when I use PLR I've bought, just to make sure it's all consistent with my "voice".
