It's going to depend what skills you have, I think?

Yes - there are all sorts of potentially very profitable gardening niches available, in internet marketing. I'd say it's one of the better things in which to have some knowledge and expertise.

Really, there are lots of possibilities, with this. You could be either an affiliate or a product creator/vendor. Gardening niche products are highly popular and can convert very well. Just one little example of a niche is "hydroponic gardening", and there are also others to do with plants. Not necessarily with "plant biology" at the purest, scientific level (though that could be a viable niche too, for all I know) but to do with plants, anyway. Lots of potential there, for online marketing.

(Again, what you can do with them, to derive income, is obviously going to depend on your internet marketing skills.)

      What skills do you have?

Can you be a freelance service provider? Are there in-demand IM (or other) services you can provide?

For "urgent cash needs", if you're desperate, there's a lot of information in this thread: http://www.warriorforum.com/main-int...desperate.html

It's possible, but it all depends on what skills you have. Everything in internet marketing has its own learning curve. Most people who try to develop their own IM business never get to $1,500-$3,000 per month at all, but some do, and a lot further.

You're kind of asking about two totally different things at the same time, I think: being an employee and setting up your own IM business (whether as a freelancer or not). That's not a criticism, just an observation.

I know that it's possible to do very well with the affiliate marketing of gardening-related products (which sounds like it might suit you, looking at it very superficially, anyway?), but if you don't already know how to do affiliate marketing, it certainly has a big learning curve, and you have to start off from accepting the reality that (just as is the case with most other forms of self-employment, probably), the majority of people who try to do it aren't successful.

  • It is possible--what I would do is start a blog and/or a news site that is very specific to that industry. You curate content and articles from other sites, but it would be best if you have unique articles and interview people in the industry.

Build a subscriber list, and then work on getting advertisers--you can initially start with AdSense or something similar to monetize the site.

  • Thanks. I relly apprecite that
  • Off the top of my head, there would be huge copywriting opportunities for green bloggers and brands that are trying to be/look more environmentally conscious.

Beyond that, you could make a review site of popular products in the plant biology niche.

Find product ideas by searching "top * in plant biology", "best * for plant biologists", etc.
  • Maybe you should be thinking how you can help yourself?
  • Fastest money method I can think of, is to write PLR articles packages on your major, along with keyword list to sell on WSO.
  • As others have mentioned the sheer learning curve of creating your own product and marketing it or learning the ins and outs of affiliate marketing will mean that it could be months before you are earning money, some people do manage it a lot faster but they are a rare exception.

So that leaves the option to make money through selling services, article writing, voice over work on fiverr that sort of thing really.
  • I have made money on fiverr you should check it out.
  • What dont you try transcription(gmrtranscription), freelance websites(elance, odesk) and content writing websites(iwriter, text broker)

  • If you have any skills online then you could go to fiverr.com or Odesk.

However it sounds like you are desperate to make money. I would suggest that you find a good job right now.

Then if you really want to become a online marketer, leverage your job while you build your online biz part time.
  • Obviously creating your own product and setting up the sales process and driving traffic to it is going to take time especially if your are new to the whole process. Similarly driving traffic (free or paid) to an affiliate product is going to take some time or require some patience, money and skills to make it work.
Your best bet is to sell your service on Fiverr, Odesk..or right here on this Forum. Check those sites out to see what is being offered..to get some ideas what you can offer..then just do it to get things started.
