Creating a wordpress theme: What would you find helpful as an affiliate marketer?

I am thinking about creating and selling (obviously) a responsive WordPress magazine theme for internet marketers (and myself).

Basically i am thinking of inbuilt features that i would find helpful. This is what i have come up with so far.

- General magazine theme.
- Responsive.
- Custom colours etc.
- Opt in form customizer (lightboxes, sidebars, everything imaginable).
- Affiliate link redirect with tracking.
- Product reviews. (Both reviewer and turn comments in to reviews).
- Sliders.
- Shortcodes.
- Inbuilt SEO.
- Secondary designs/templates for landing pages/video landing pages.

What would you find helpful?

I think, coming from a marketing perspective, if you want to be successful, you'll need to target one specific use of a website before you even design your theme.

Think of all the things you can do with a Wordpress site... magazine, personal, responsive, blog, business, multimedia, portfolio, commerce, squeeze page, membership portals, etc.

My only recommendation would be to pick one of those categories, then ask people what they like to see on ______ types of Wordpress sites. You'll find that your answers will vary amongst intended use so you should be able to get a more clear picture of what people would like in a theme.

    Cheers!

This is something I have always wondered. What would I include if I was to design a theme. I have that in the beak of my mind as I have other software in development currently, and can only afford to manage one or two at a time.

But, just what the hell do I include to make a theme attractive to most folks?
