Hostgater sent me a $150 credit of advertising for Google is it worth it?

I received in the mail today a card that says Google Adwords Express, Get up to $150 in free Google advertising. When I went to the site basically it says they will match up to $150 for every dollar I spent, so I would like to market my make money op lead capture page. Is this avenue worth the money to use this to market a internet marketing make money lead capture page??

never use free in your ad your money will fly out the window so fast you won't know what hit you. I highly recommend you get some good training under your belt about adwords before you use paid ads through them. It is extremely easy to crash and burn.

      Claire's hit the bullseye.

The only reason they give you a free credit is to get you to spend that same amount on their product.

You could look at it as getting $300 of advertising for $150 (only if you really know what you're doing after experimenting with the platform) . . . or . . . you could look at it as $150 down the tube even though you got $300 of non-performing exposure!

The only way you actually win is to know what you're doing in the first place. And I think Google realizes that - so they place a restriction on using the free credit only if you start a new account (I am not sure that's correct, but I think it is as I've been sent probably 25 of these same offers over the years and that's what I remember about the fine print.)

      Good luck,

      Steve

P.S. One way to fool Google would be to get some help from an Adwords expert - have them review everything you do and listen to what they say. Then maybe the offer would be worth something.

It's just a trick. Google is def not in the business of giving away money. That $150 credit will disappear like nothing if you don't know what you're doing.

When they say there is a sucker born every minute, I was two minutes away from becoming Googles next sucker!
(but.. I run EVERYTHING through this forum first so thank God that didn't happen!)

It's not a trick. It's a legitimate BOGO offer to tempt you to try their service.

Yes, it's for opening a new account, if the offer is like the ones I get periodically.

There's nothing in the terms that says you have to blow the whole thing in one day, or bid silly money on ads, although biz-opp ads tend to be way overpriced, especially for the obvious keywords.

If you have the budget, take the money and park it while you investigate and learn. Then dole it out slowly on trial campaigns.

Both Perry Marshall and Dr. Glenn Robinson have some excellent free educational materials. Of course, Perry wants you to buy his stuff, and last I look Dr. Glenn ran an Adwords management service, but their free stuff is top-notch.

In fact, spend a little time learning before you lay out a penny. Then if you decide to buy $300 worth of ads for $150, you'll do so from an informed position rather than an impulse buy.

It's really just a "come on" and is little more than junk mail.
Put it in the trash, and use your time more wisely.

      A funny side note:

I've seen these things up for auction on eBay, and people actually bid on them. Of course the auction seller doesn't disclose that they are non-transferrable and the recipient's name or business is printed right on the coupon. LOL

Here is my experience. Google took my money. They would never approve me. Like they kept giving me more an more excuses. Basically, the money is gone.

If I'm not mistaken, you'll need to spend $50 in order to eligible for the $150 free credits on adwords.

It depends on the offer. Most of what I get are straight up BOGOs. A three-for-one is pretty good, if you're inclined to learn to use Adwords. That's $200 worth of clicks for $50.

It depends upon How you use it. You have to choose the low cpc keywords for that. Do some reverse engineering in keyword research before using it. It will be useful to you.

    Happy money making!!
