Cancelling Monthly Payment

I have a question:

If you purchase a piece of software monthly, but after few days you decide it's not worth it, can you cancel the payment but still use it for the rest of the month? This would mean the whole month was paid for, just not the next month.

If you've paid your subscription for the month, it should be yours to use until the month is over.

On the whole, you get what you pay for.

Every offer is different but you should be able to read the "terms of service" to find out what cancellation rights you have.

Logically speaking, I think Ghoster is right. To me, if you paid for the initial month, you should be able to use it for that period even if you cancelled early.

Some people wait until the 30th day of a subscription to cancel, but that gets a little dicey . . . what if you have problems cancelling? You might be charged for a second month and I can tell you for sure that typically, cancelling a little early is preferable to have to do a chargeback with a credit card company.

      Good luck,

      Steve

I just looked through their terms of service then; it wasn't mentioned. I think I'll wait until day 25~ to cancel.

        Thanks!

In my experience of membership sites, once you cancel, after a few days of processing, your access is revoked. May be different with software. Depends how anal the vendor is I guess.

In my experience with monthly subscriptions, I've had no problem cancelling sometime during the month and then being able to use that full month, because that's what I've paid for.

That's basically how it works and should work, as long as the vendor is fair and honest.

I think I'll play it safe and wait 3 weeks.
