optimizepress safe?

I almost got hacked on vbulletin recently and when my host was cleaning everything up they told me to delete everything with optimizepress in it.

He told me that someone could basically go into my site and do anything they want. Said that this was the problem:

wp-content/uploads/optpress/images_comingsoon/2012090713-14-55Optimizepress.php

I submitted a support ticket to OP but in the meantime I'm wondering if anyone else has dealt with this. I figured OP was perfectly safe due to it's longstanding reputation. This is OP 1.0.

    There was a problem with an exploit in OptimizePress some time ago, your host is just paranoid. If you are using the latest version you should be ok.

    Interesting thread. I hadn't heard this before. When you mention the latest version of OP are you referring to OP version 2 or simply the latest version of OP1. I have a number of sites built on OP1 so I'm interested.
