Newbie Issues - Stuck & getting nowhere!

Alright, the issue is about making money online - Like some people told me in the last post, building an affiliate marketing website is the easiest way of getting started..

But just being 19 years of age I have no experience in any particular niche & therefore, I don't think there's any way I can develop credibility with the audience..

Also, the first thing is money - which, being a student, I admit I am really short of!

So the next step I took was to post some gigs on fiverr.com : The only stuff I know is writing some quality articles, transcription, proof reading & yet no buyers after so many days.

Also, I feel that the best selling gigs on fiverr, seoclerks.com, gigbucks.com are all about increasing twitter followers, facebook & youtube subscribers, SEO strategies etc for varied prices..

Can any of you guys teach me about this ? If not, how can I learn these things ?

:confused::confused::confused::confused::confused: :confused::confused::confused::confused::confused: :confused::confused::confused::confused:

Also, I read somewhere that it's also possible on fiverr that you do the work & you don't even get paid. Is that possible ?

ALSO, THE BIGGEST HURDLE I GUESS IS THAT PEOPLE ARE SKEPTICAL ABOUT ORDERING WRITTEN STUFF FROM NON ENGLISH SPEAKERS & ESPECIALLY WE INDIANS HAVE A VERY POOR REPUTATION OUT THERE!

I really lack a lot of skills and want to develop the skills that are currently in demand.. This is all that I can think of all day..

I thought of a lot of options - Writing a blog ( still, not a lot of knowledge about any field ) & monetization with ads, or maybe selling the site on flippa after a few months, creating an online community, outsourcing an ebook, etc.

Also, I WOULD LIKE TO TALK A BIT ABOUT ODESK & ELANCE :

I FEEL BOTH OF EM SUCK BIG TIME!!

The only reason I feel is that as a candidate, you have to apply to all the employers - Typing in your recommendations for all the different employers & getting rejected by all..

And who's gonna hire an inexperienced bloke like me ??

Nothing's working guys... Please help..

From the sounds of it, you're trying to develop the skills to be an online laborer... work x number of hours and get paid x dollars per hour. While there is nothing wrong with that, why not try to build an income source that isn't directly tied to the number of hours you have to work. I mean, the beauty of affiliate marketing is once you create a winning campaign, it makes money for you while you sleep, sometimes for years.

    So, think bigger.

No matter what you do, you'll always feel like you don't have enough knowledge or expertise as the next person who makes money doing what you want to. But you need to get rid of that mentality and just start learning about a niche. Choose something you like so that you'll have fun while you're learning about it. After a while, you'll have more knowledge than you expected.

  • You have to figure out what works for you and what does not. People can give you advice, but it is up to you to take actions.

If you are willing to spend a bit of money, perhaps get enrolled in a paid coaching program run by a good mentor.

You can also try to look for information here on Warrior forum, this place has tons of great threads.

Think of using Fiverr as an arena. There are many warriors. It is hard work to simply survive. That said, Fiverr costs you zero. Learn how to program. Find a new niche that has a lot of demand, but few active warriors. That way, you can make some money. OK so then keep at it, and do not give up. Becoming an affiliate is a whole different game. It requires some money. Like you have to get some awesome domain names. Yeah, those can be expensive. Also, you must create quality content and that means more than just text, but also images. Hosting for me on host gator costs $300 per year. Aluminum plan that is $25 per month and bronze is next step up. Oh yes, that one costs some serious money.

You don't have to have experience in a niche to work in it....just a willingness to learn about it. If/when you start earning money in it, you'll develop a genuine interest in it. If you are a student, go into a niche that students may be interested in - learn a foreign language for example.

Focus on doing ONE thing right and getting good at it so you can make money. If your focus is on lots of things, you won't do any of them well.

    Hi Dhruv,
Can you explicitly state your question? I mean what do you want to walk away with here, a business plan? a place where you can make money online? If you want to create a business, then remember you will need substantial start up capital, even online. If you are looking for jobs on the net, then try asking yourself what you are good at, if you are a good writer then here's a tip, try to find content companies either in your own country/area or online thru Google. Pitch your services to them, many not too big content companies use freelance writers, sometimes as a basic business model in order to cut back costs, or offload work which they cannot handle. - Hope this helps.

    cheers and chin up!

I understand. Same here. Even though I grew up in an American community, could read English when I was 3 and have excellent writing skills, nobody wants to hire me.

WHY? BECAUSE MY LOCATION IS INDIA!

I tend to think there are many ways of going about this issues. The going may not be easy at first, but it is the persistence person that often carries the day. You may have to provide samples to prospective customers to show them you're capable of delivering excellent results.

Think of ways to reduce the perceived risks a client is having. By showing your willingness to go the extra mile, you are likely to land some opportunities. Be innovative and keep trying. Whatever you do DON"T GIVE UP!
