I just hope that people are using their skills to make a positive difference in this world... That is all!

I'm personally a mixture of both. I like to provide very high quality products and services and turn a profit. But there's nothing quite like the feeling of truly helping someone or the world.

    That's why I say both.

      Awesome thread bro!

      For me it's definitely both!

Not only in terms of donating money to charity and good causes but also in the sense of socially, expanding awareness and consciousness, technologically and generally just spreading happiness and making this an awesome planet to live on

I think you have to also be careful and not give too much of yourself too early. If you imagine yourself as a small plant growing into a tree, if you keep pulling leaves and fruits off, you will hinder your own growth and never fully grow into a massive tree that can feed many

With my company we set aside 15% of all gross earnings for our not for profit we also run. It encourages us to make money in the business - so we can funnel money into our NFP!

Man, I'm probably the most unambitious person on this forum. I'm a big slacker. I just don't want a normal job. I don't need anything more than $50K/year. For me, it's all about sleeping in and having a ton of free time for books, self-learning, coding, and mild entertainment.

I think I'm the same. Must be an Australian thing.

For me it is a bit of both as well.

I'd like to think that by offering pretty cool, friendly and client-centric services to businesses, I help businesses grow, expand and hopefully give more people jobs. Any monetary bonus is really just a cherry on top. Not every day is a blessing being self employed, but compared to some of the jobs I've had in the past, I wake up very happy and certain that I'm on the right track.

Doing what I want each day from home, that's why I love this career path.

I'm using IM to make money. Period. With that money, hopefully I can support my bro's education. Then, I'll think about changing the world.

At least 90% people get engaged with IM to earn money. But they cannot earn a penny unless they contribute something to it. So those people who are making money, they are definitely changing the world.

  • For me, this is a business and thus the main motivation is revenue. I dont think there's any need to "change the world". If you provide quality products/services, you will be achieving both goals: make money for you and to provide good value to people, and that's good enough as far as I'm concerned.

"Changing the world, one affiliate link at a time."

Yeah, not really sure that sounds too realistic.

People who think that they're changing the world need to grow up. It sickens me whenever I see someone claiming their this entrepreneur/world changer. It makes my skin crawl because I know just how full of shit they are. Not a slight at you, but this brief post reminded me of this, and yes, I felt compelled to share.

With that being said, bullshitters who pretend that they offer great products ALSO make my skin crawl. Bullshitters who believe that they offer great products AND are changing the world? Makes my blood boil.

So my advice is: don't pretend to be something you're not. Don't be delusional. You're in business to make money. If you want to "make a difference", join the peace corps or become a doctor. Again, not directly spoken to you...just anyone who reads this. Be down to earth, people. Down to earth.

Basically I'm a marketer I market stuff to people to make money, if I can help someone out along the way I will and feel good about it. But the bottom line is that I do what I do to provide for my family and not to cure cancer or save the whale this is my reality.

I am using my limited skills to help people on the WF

I don't have the resources to change the world, unfortunately.

Money makes the world go around. If you take away the money, they will find something else to use as money. There is nothing wrong with making money, it is how the owner uses it.

I could buy all the cigarets in the world and get rid of them.
Or I could buy all the cigarets in the world and sell them back for $10 a stick.

    Just an example.

I started changing the world a long time ago. Internet marketing is only part of the plan.

Have you seen the sales pages of some of these people? LOL. This isn't the most moral or ethical group. But you are right that it's a worthy goal to make positive change.

Obviously I'm using internet marketing to make money, is there anyone out there who isn't? I don't particularly want to change the world with my business but I do like to help people out if they need my help.
