Has anyone got a review copy and given a negative review?

If I have been asked to review something, and I can't say something positive about it, I tell the product creator what I think and give them suggestions as to what they could improve to make it something I feel would be beneficial for the buyers.

Whether they take that advice or not is up to them. However I tell them up front that my reviewing a product will result in truth and I won't post a review if I can't support it. I don't however post negative reviews on the thread - but then there's never been something I have been asked to review that was pure crap or scam or danger. So far there have only been a couple of products I couldn't really say great things about that I thought needed some tweaking before release.

Maybe others are doing the same. Here's to hoping. Though sometimes I see a bunch of glowing reviews on things I know have flaws and need significant tweaking - and I wonder the same.

I just did a first review for a WSO where I received a review copy. If you read my review, you will see a very honest review. I do tend to agree with Nano as there are SOOOO many reviews that just seem....well...questionable, to say the least.

Personally, I don't see myself reviewing WSO's often. I'm somewhat of a newbie myself and I have pointed that out in my review. In other words "Caveat Emptor"

In my years on the Warrior Forum, I have had the opportunity to review dozens of products. Now, since I value my reputation here on the forum, I will not give a positive review on a product if I think that it is of poor quality, over-priced, full of fluff, etc. I simply won't. And I don't care how nice the Warrior is.

When I do review a product that I wouldn't recommend to others, I simply PM the product owner and say, "I appreciate that you gave me your product free of charge to review. I promised you an honest, detailed, and fair review. I can't with good conscience recommend your product. If you would like me to still leave my feedback, I will. But I would suggest that I NOT leave a review, and that you fix the so-and-so issues thst your product has."

They have NEVER asked me to go ahead with my negative (but honest) review. And I'm sure that's common. So what ends up happening is that having all the positive, free reviews gives possible buyer the impression of a quality product (even though it might not have been seen in the same light if the negative reviews were posted too).

I have never left a bad review as they don't want them, but I have gone and helped several warriors improve here products and given them a few hours to a few days of my time so they got the bugs or whatever worked out. Call me crazy for giving free time but hey I think sometimes it good Karma and we have a few good laughs on Skype.

And here's the bad part: If they dont make those corrections you have given them, then poor ole buyers of the WSO. Let them suffer its ok because you dont want to leave a bad review. Imagine if they had this in the movie industry.

The other thing that irritates me is the fact that when a WSO is posted, immediately there is an army of people coming into the thread saying what a nice guy the WSO creator is and how honest he is etc etc and whatever he makes is pure gold even though those leaving those posts have not even seen the WSO. Sometimes 90% of that WSO is filled with those kind of posts. They should ban those kinds of posts as it is of no help to the poor sucker buying the WSO. You would think that most WSO starters are good guys.

I have but I don't recall any actually making the sales thread as most ask you to PM or post on their thread in the Wanted section.

There was one that not one person who posted a review gave a positive review on. It was so bad in fact I had to delete it because I couldn't believe someone had the audacity to try to sell that crap. Even free it wasn't worth it.

I'm still not clear on the white hat/gray hat/black hat methods but I felt the scheme he was promoting was under the black hat & it was. Basically cheating.

See this is the problem I have. If honest reviewers are just going to PM the WSO creator saying I cant honestly review it because it is not good, I feel they are doing a disservice to the general users who are willing to pay their hard earned cash for the WSO. Thats why IMO reviews are so misleading because there is nothing bad about the product and all the honest reviewers refuse to post the review because they feel bad about offending the creator but not thinking they are actually offending the poor user who was suckered into buying it based on all those positive reviews although the user has no idea whats happening behind the scenes.

I've wondered why this otherwise wonderful community (overall), lets people suffer because of our refusal to post bad reviews.

That's not community thinking - that's selfish. That's not adding to the forum, that's making the forum worse.

Is it that you are afraid of being cut off for a possible JV? Is it that you are afraid of your own product being reviewed and others seeing it for what it is? Is it that you don't want to hurt the poor guy that is releasing the WSO but it's okay to hurt the poor guys buying it as their last hope?

I reviewed a guy's product that was really bad (at his request). I told him exactly what I thought of it and gave a few ideas about how to make it better. I never saw the product emerge and I figure the guy just left the forum.

I think a product developer should be allowed to go back and fix his mistakes or start over instead of his reputation being trashed before his product is ever released. It's not disservice to the forum when the product is not even available yet.

Of course he can, no doubts there but then you as a reviewer should say when you are ready to put this WSO up and you are certain about the product then I will give you an honest review. For you thats the right thing to do for the community IMO. In other words, fix your mistakes, then Ill review it again. Otherwise dont give him a review. Thats the way it should be.

I agree with you, Steve. I am NOT the WSO police. If someone gives me a product to review, I am doing the review strictly for his benefit. If the product blows, then I don't leave the review.

For those of you crying foul over not protecting buyers by posting a negative review, give me a break. If someone gave you something FREE to review, you aren't going to turn around and trash it publicly. And if you disagree, then please show me the free reviews that you left doing the same thing.

Now, if you purchased the product, that's a totally different ballgame. You can go ahead and post the negative review without feeling bad at all. But if you are getting it free, it just seems like poor taste to publish the negatiev review without giving the product owner the possibility to fix it.

But like I said, I'm not the WSO police. So I'm not going to double-check to see what the product owner does/or doesn't do with his product.

Those saying that leaving negative reviews (on products given free to them) are very irritating. There is no perfect system. By looking at the reviews on a WSO, all of them, not just ones resulting from getting the product free, the average person should be able to get a fairly accurate idea of how good the product is.

Scared to post negative reviews because of fear of losing a JV possibility? Please. That never crosses my mind.

Yeah I know about it but I just feel for the hundreds who go into the WSO thread only and where reviews are skewed. And not all will review each WSO in that section of the forum you mentioned.

I just hope you are not reviewing any movies or other things lol. Cause thrash movies will be A++ because you were invited to a free screening. All it means is that you can be bought! Give something for free and you have been bought for a good review. Well that's my opinion on you anyway. At the end of the day we all have opinions and I respect yours.

Have you guys even consider what is a good product compare to a bad product?

There are many newbies who are looking for FREE review copies so to them maybe its a good course as they are learning something NEW.

Of course if you gave the same product to an experience marketer, they would find it a waste of time as they already know everything within the product.

Now it is unfair if that person then post negative reviews saying its a useless product.

I reckon the review of a WSO should be in a certain format like:

Experience level: newbie, intermediate or advance
Useless or useful to that SPECIFIC person: "Good product for newbies but not advance etc" for example
Conclusion: "I recommend this to newbies only as it covers step by step how to ..." OR "LimitlessTraffic has absolutely over delivered in his WSO and everyone can definitely benefit from it"

I reckon like this, we can at least measure the quality of the wso depending on experience.

Some people ask for refunds because it is NOT newbie friendly while others say its a crappy product.

At least like this we can make sure who the laser targeted audience is.

The one that I did which was never released here was total crap. Poor
English, which is easily fixable. But the method was not explained at all & it was total black hat. And the person could only prove $100 a month not the $900 he was saying.

But I have seen some written the way you stated.

If am dissatisfied with a WSO, I do nothing.

If I get very disappointed because the sales letter doesn't meet my hope. Other word: the seller deceives or he/ she is unable to complete the task. I will ask a refund and consider to leave a negative review.

If I am satisfied with a WSO, I will leave positive review.

Its actually for this reason I dont give free review copies. I dont want someone to just say great things about my products because they feel obligated to since they got it free. I want good honest reviews.
Every review I have on my WSO's have always been honest reviews from paying customers who I didnt ask to post. They just do it on there own. I think reviews like that are worth much more than a review from someone who got a free copy.
