Traffic using Classified sites

Hello fellow Warriors,

I am relatively new to Internet Marketing and the one thing that I dislike the most is investing my time and energy on tasks that will yield little results in return.

Keeping it simple: Is it worth promoting affiliate products on Classifieds like Gumtree and Craigslist (UK), I am looking to use the London location as I will have more viewers that way.

Have you personally generated leads/sales this way before?

Is it worth paying the £5 to have my ad featured for a few weeks to enhance exposure dramatically?

Look forward to reading the informative and straight-to-the-point responses.

Cheers

Eew, we have to be informative and straight-to-the-point? There's always a catch.

Ok, then: in my opinion it might be worth it if you're retaining a proportion of the traffic by sending it to an opt-in page, but without doing that you won't be able to do any of the three main things on which income from affiliate marketing depends, so there's probably no point at all.

Hey shoechick, nice advice but maybe he only wants to get sells.. If that`s the case he will get some sales from time to time.. Anyhow I think gumtree and craiglist are kind of old techniques.. I don`t think he`ll have the best results

Of a "grow taller" product sold on ClickBank, and promoted through classified ad sites by direct linking? Are you a betting man, Mr Goe?

Along with PPC, classified advertising are the first 2 methods where I earned my first dollar online.

That was in 2008 - also my first year in internet marketing.

Know this at that time, I have yet to do article marketing, social bookmarking, video submissions nor any of those methods you probably learn when it comes to SEO or link building.

I did not even know how to build a website yet.

    Not until 2010.

If you want a tool that can help you to submit your ads to dozens of classified sites, you might want to check this WSO.

Classified sites are one of the most unique ways to get massive advertising traffic to your site or blog. There are various ways to get traffic because visitors are very important for website.

I've found classified sites massively useful for collecting leads in a number of different niches. The trick for me has been to not sell anything in the ad, but rather to inform so curiosity drives the click and my squeeze page pulls in the lead.

I have also tried the featured ads option the OP speaks of and honestly got less hits than from my ads. Go figure

    Thanks.

    1) Create Squeeze page

    2) Create curiosity

    3) Drive to squeeze page and collect information

    4) Send them to review page

    5) They click any of the links and are redirected to the official, but URL masked, sales page

    6) Ka-ching?

      I'm afraid not.

You've missed out all the important, income-producing parts which determine who buys.

All the parts that are the purpose of list-building. The building of relationships; the establishment of credibility and trust; the design and implementation of a continuity process so that your subscribers actually open, read and pay attention to the emails that lead to the sales; the providing of additional value; the making sure that your subscribers trust your recommendations. Those are all things that will determine your income. Without doing those, you can send as many of them as you like to a "review page" and still not make any sales at all from it.

I've found plenty of success using classifieds for one or two niches. One involved driving leads to a website with no list-building intentions. Many of these people became recurring visitors. Then I built another site with list-building in mind, and people have been signing up like crazy. Now i'm currently building trust and offering everything that I promised. As long as your ad is actually helpful and not spammy, there's no harm. People seem to be responding just fine and not flagging the ad and cursing me left and right.

      Hi,

Classified sites still work if you submit to the right websites.

This is a task that can take lots of time and energy if you do it by yourself, id suggest you to outsource it on Fiverr.

      Best

You are right about investing a lot of time, but at first you need to experiment and anything paid you want to go smaller to test it then scale up if it's working. If your not yielding results, dump it and move to the next.
