Some time ago, I started collecting "favorites" of WF threads. I was just wondering if anyone else does this? Often the information is extremely valuable and I don't want to forget it or lose it. Like one would normally bookmark websites, I found bookmarking these pages gives you a reference point to invaluable information that you can then refer back to often. The value of that collection, in my opinion, is beyond that of many good business books I've invested in.

I have not done that but that is a good suggestion and I will consider it in the future. Sometimes I use the search feature to try and find threads that I want to revisit. Sometimes I cannot find them. Good idea. Thanks for sharing.

That really is cool.... I had found a couple of those on my own.

      Thanks.

Anything of real value, I download a PDF version for future reference. Saves searching.

This is one of many sites, and there are browser plugins around as well that do the job.

You're welcome. One thing about bookmarking pages is the content can change. A post could be deleted in future, the thread removed, or in extreme cases the site could be gone. By creating a PDF version of the page, its permanently on your hard drive for future reference. I have a number of folders and drop in the PDFs as they arise. So a SEO folder, Facebook folder etc. Back it all up to a USB or DropBox in case your computers packs in or goes missing. Works for me anyway.

I also try to read the new .. be sure to check the new threads when searching for SEO, marketing tricks or whatever.. you most likely will find outdated info when looking into favourites on these topics..

Yea, I thought about that when I posted. Of course some things will be out of date for sure.

I used to, years ago. But eventually I had so many bookmarked threads, that I rarely went back to re-read any of them. You get to the point where you simply don't need more information (otherwise it results in "information overload")... you just need to take action on the information you already have.

But if you're still in the "more learning than doing" phase, then yeah, it's smart to bookmark a handful of threads that inspire you. Just don't get too carried away and bookmark a ton of threads.... otherwise you lose focus.

I get your point but there's not enough time in a day to take action on everything in here right away. I'm not talking about bookmarking hundreds of threads. I'm talking about bookmarking those that are most valuable to you in the future. I can't tell you how many times I've remembered something and looked for it, only to never find it again. When you keep archives, you'll never have to worry about it getting lost. I keep another reference notepad where I have saved valuable websites and sources - everything from percentage calculators to html references. I simply open it up, do a control F search and wholla! Saving a similar WF doc or PDF would prove to be just as valuable to any smart internet marketer - unless you have a flawless memory. I sure don't.

I already have too many complicated lists for sites and topics on different forums around the internet.

I'll try and get round to doing it on here someday. Could prove valuable at certain times in the future.

Great idea but I definitely agree with Brandon ... you can get caught up "bookmarking" stuff and never get around to doing stuff!

Downloading good threads in as a PDF is a very good idea for capturing the thread without fear of it being deleted or closed down in the future.

I have two word documents where I keep the best threads of the Warior Forum and the best threads of the War Room.

Sometimes this collection is very helpful, even though I usually don't have time to go back to most threads.

The importance of keeping the best threads for you becomes visible when you decide to do something. For example, I decided to write my first Kindle ebook after finding many threads about this matter at the WF. Now I have a separated word document with threads about Kindle and other related links.

If I want, I can write a book about how to write, publish, and promote your Kindle ebook based on this information, but internet marketing is not my field and I don't have time for that. I’m just mentioning this fact because it is a smart idea.

When I was learning how to create Squidoo lenses I did the same. Then, I created a Squidoo lens teaching others how to create perfect business lenses based on the information I had collected in my word document, thanks to the links I kept, with the best advice I found about every aspect. This is the only page about internet marketing I have online, but it gets a lot of traffic.

However, this is not targeted traffic for me. I deal with mental health and self-help. With this page I simply verified the basic rule we must know online: it is a foolish idea to try to attract visitors to your pages about another topic.

My initial intention was to perhaps attract visitors from internet marketing to my field, but I was not successful in this point. My websites rarely get visitors from this lens, but perhaps my other lenses do. I don't have time to check the statistics.

In any case, the lens I created giving lessons to everyone else about how to create lenses was basically created thanks to the collection of links with precious information I had collected during my research. It is a very good idea to transform your research into a product.

I only save things that are relevant to what I'm doing. Those would be mostly from Alexa Smith. The thing I like about Alexa is that many of her posts interlink, so by simply having 3-4 threads saved I've really got a ton of information.

I wish others would be as thorough with their answers as she is.
