Yep - but it would help tremendously if you were part of a marketing group that has resources such as done for you traffic, campaigns, capture pages, autoresponder, training, support, etc!

I know what you mean! I've been there and I know how demotivating it could be, when you tried so many things and nothing brought the results you want.

Try lead generation, it was my rescue and I am doing this till now, making nice money, having more free time and working less.

Any questions, just let me know!

Stick with one method until you bank at least $1000 p/m.

    With every method/strategy - it's doable.

From there one you can move on.

Exactly. Do not move from one strategy to another too easily. Be patient and persistent. Your efforts will pay off, eventually. Once you find the best strategy for you, everything else will follow. However, for me, this requires big investments but nothing still beats having top quality content on your website.

The first question I would ask is how many hours a week are you investing in your business? There is a high correlation between how much you work and the income you make.

The idea of passive income is like a mirage in the desert. You may as well start looking for Atlantis and Bigfoot if you are not investing a lot of time into your business and expecting high returns. Easy money doesn't exist.

Totally agree with Yukon. Pick one and ONLY one!! Stick with it until it produces at least $500 - $1000 monthly (my break through was Adsense).

It is never easy at first, but you will learn what to do and what not to do (I call mistakes/lessons - Tuition). Tuition = Knowledge (good or bad). But, whatever you do don't give up!!

As others have said, pick one and stick to it. I personally feel that Amazon is the easiest way to make money, as they do such a good job at selling once someone clicks on your link. Once you have mastered one method, you may want to pick another one in order to diversify your income - this is what I'm doing, and many others do it as well. CPA marketing is the next step for me.

The hardest part is finding a product that sells in the first place.

fine something that you have at least made one sale with even if you threw it shit tons of traffic.

now if you don't know how to generate traffic in the first place then affiliate marketing isn't your problem. Internet marketing is.

Vox there is a lot to it but you can boil it down to a few things. This is what worked for me anyways at a high level and I make a very nice living doing affiliate marketing full time. Let me also state you need to have the background to be an affiliate marketer. Business, technical, marketing mind is the best combination and it's not an easy combination of skills to have.

      1. Learn how to select the right niche. (Nichesiteduel.com with Pat Flynn is a great resource. Watch how he uses Market Samurai.) I started with high payout cost per sale model. If I would of started off with trying to deal with Commission Junction, Shareasale or some other big affiliate network I would of lost interest and be in the position you are in now. Find some decent payouts and establish a direct relationship with a company.

      2. Once you select the niche research the hell out it and find an angle where you can provide value. Google rewards good, well thought out content and it will stand the test of time. Copy one of the number one results but do it better. I'm a big believer in not reinventing the wheel and just doing something better than my competition.

      3. Consistent content is key. Look at your competition and figure out how you can have more content and better content then them. Work on the site everyday whether that is new content or a new blog post, comments. This is the single biggest item that helped me. I went an entire year doing a little every single day. It was actually a lot everyday but the everyday part is key.

      4. Promote the site. This is the tricky part because to do it right you need to spend some money. You can go about this part a lot of different ways but what has and what continues to work for me is building a private blog network of high PR domains (1, 2, 3, 4 and 5 PR domains). I put original content on them and spend some time designing them as well because I want them to be around and look legit. Then I use them for back links. I also recommend combining this with some press coverage via press releases.

If you take these steps and don't generate traffic in a few months I would be surprised.

Think where do people go to find your product or service that you are promoting. What is the demographic?

Find an advertising platform market to that demographic and niche, tweak your campaigns, success.

Thats really what it comes down to.

Each of those methods is a whole new world really, trying all of them is highly ill advised and you should consider sticking to just one at first. The process itself is simple but takes time.

Now if you only wish to make $50 a day, then why not just offer a service? With a few hours put in, you will easily be raking in more than that. Stuff like affiliate marketing requires a good deal of expendable cash and you need to stick to your guns in order to make it work. As the industry has matured considerably in the past 1 decade, it has become insanely competitive. Mobile is the new game changer and things like pay per call, mobile gpt and ptc, mobile cpa are where smart marketers will be focusing because it is still virgin territory (for the time being anyways). I might be able to help you if you need some information on making some money quickly. No I am not saying $100 per day, but it should be enough to get you started. PM me if you are interested.

    • Instead of trying to make money from selling various affiliate offers, take time to learn what sells the most... Which is offering products or services that help others succeed in making money online.

Also, if you can afford it, using a coach or mentor is worth it.

Whatever you do, keep learning and don't quit. Perseverance pays off.

Find 'one' method that 'works' then master it!

What works for some doesn't work for all.

Once you find the one marketing method that works for you, become a producer and not just a consumer of information.

I read an excellent post by a well respected internet marketer called "surefire way to your first 1k month."

    1. Pick one method ( List building with a squeeze page )
    2. Pick one product to promote
    3. pick one traffic source and master it.

    It really is that simple...

Master a traffic strategy and send all your traffic to a squeeze page. Provide the people who sign up to you with massive value and entertainment. While giving away great value -- promote a high quality product.

As you can see the key is to focus! Focus

    Hope this helps

This guy has a great point.

Making money doing this stuff is pretty simple...send traffic to a high converting offer. Period.

The hard part comes in the dynamics of mastering a certain way of generating traffic (copywriting and other skills are of course important too)

The way I do it is by shooting value based videos, creating blog posts it of them, and promoting them in a certain way so that they will go viral.

But there are many others. Pick one and master it.

Another thing I have to mention....listen to audios by master marketers and people who make lots of money. There are hundreds of thousands of youtube videos that you can dl mp3s from.....have them going in the background during the day while you are doing whatever. I can't stress how much of a game changer this can be.

making money online is fairly simple, but being overwhelmed with information thrown at you gets you stuck.

Every one of us has been there so you are NOT alone.

      FOCUS is the key!

ONE NICHE IS ALL YOU NEED.

You need to find people with a problem first

Give them solution to that problem.

Mom after Birth want so lose weight.

Give her plan that helps her.

What ever NICHE you choose to work with, once set up, you need to concentrate on driving traffic to that offer and look at your conversions.

If you drive 100 people to the offer - even if it is free offer such as squeeze page, you need to concentrate on making that page convert HIGH.

Once you get a good number and good sales funnel in place. All you have to do is drive more traffic to it.

The key is to lower distractions and increase productivity.

Yep, l was involved with PPC Classroom, with someone who made $10,000 a month, and became rich with it.

He also eventually tried one of the hottest affiliate products out there, Earth for Energy, (Adwords won't touch it now, they did something wrong) and couldn't get it to work!

But l tried it for about 7 months, although l spent years trying to create or find a product, sell it, and scale it up!

Just like you it is bloody difficult to make it cough up. Create a great Facebook product with does well at one place, and won't work with Adwords because the kw costs are sky high!

      Etc.

Creating software as a WSO can work over the course of a year or two, but it isn't a perfect system and will take time and some money to pull off.

I am currently staying with graphics, or a site l found since the SEO traffic converts well, so l only need to do high quality graphics over time.

Overcomes most of the other issues, involved with product creation, etc!

But of course you need to be good or great at graphics, which l learned over time, although music, 3D designs and images are also possible.

I would recommend going to Graphicriver, and scrolling down the bottom of the page to check out all their other sites, something might gel?

But if not you still have a great resource or other option to overcome the Affiliate brick wall.

      Good luck!

    My friend, dig deeper...
    I say this with kindness...
Truly trying something is not taking part, failing and then assuming it does not work...

You have to dig deep and truly decide that you will not stop taking action until you have a breakthrough...

I say that with respect my friend, I promise you that...
There are so many avenues to make money from affiliate marketing...
Youtube, Facebook, PPC, PPV SEO... etc...

But you do not need to master them at all to have a massive breakthrough and become successful...

Truth is if you focus (focus is vital) on one source of traffic that common sense says will never dry out, and you get awesome at it... that is all you need for traffic...

Then if you focus on creating high converting sales funnels that offer value and get awesome at them, then you can start to create your own wealth online...

Of course you need, a high quality product in your chosen niche...

Choose one or two traffic methods and get awesome at them and take a look at what other marketers are doing with there sales funnels....

Save the emails you get from marketers that catch your attention and make you want to click that link...

Don`t copy them but use them as education on what makes people tick and want to take action...

    Hope that helps buddy..
Good luck, stick at it, it will come

    Kindest regards
    Louis

What's your niche? What's your demographic profile and segmenting? Not all niches are hugely money making. Then there are niches that are just "one shot" i.e. if they have bought the product then you're done or basically not many products can be offered anymore. Some niches like recipe are abundantly free online and hence unless you have a really damn good twist it's pretty not-so-easy to make money from it. And secondly, how is your traffic profile, demographic segment? Do they have a buying power? Thirdly, how do you stand up from your competitors? How do you make difference and giving value?

Pick one product that has a high gravity on clickbank so you know it converts well. stick to that product and dont jump around to others. then also pick one strategy for selling that product and stick with it until you start making sales. i.e. if you test out ppc with $50 you probably wont get to a spot you want to. you have to put a lot more time and testing into it

You know no such thing at all, I'm afraid.

This is a widespread misunderstanding, but there's no positive correlation at all between a product's gravity and "how it converts". (With many high-gravity products there's even sometimes a slight reverse correlation: they can convert really badly, and there are reasons for that, too).

These threads clarify it, in some detail.

As much as it sucks, you just have to keep trying. There are thousands of products out there teaching you how to advertize. They all do and say the same thing.

It is better in the long run for you to learn the hard way. That way when something goes wrong you can easily fix it.

The biggest problem you will have is finding a target market.

Make sure you selling High quality Affiliating products.
    1. Google and searchs someone you know who is a leader in your niche. usually good affilate links have pre-written email.
2.Promote a product with a continuous recurring order.
    3. Look at Clickbank it is the largest seller of digital products. When you go to the Market place, once you have choosen the category check the Grav. this tells you how many affiliates has made a sale over the last 12 weeks. look for a figure of 20 nothing less.

The Answer You Want To Hear?

Affiliate marketing is easy. All you need to do is...

    1. Pick a product that's in an area you know a lot about.

    2. Get your affiliate link.

    3. Set up squeeze page with a blog connected to it, for traffic building purposes and as a way to get people on to your list.

    4. Get an autoresponder like MailChimp or Aweber.

    5. Set up a series of e-mails promoting your affiliate offer.

    6. Drive traffic through your WF signature.

If you wanted to make money in affiliate marketing, honestly, that would probably be the easiest and most affordable way to do it.

The Answer You probably Don't Want To Hear

Affiliate marketing is a very low-leverage, razor-thin margin activity for most people. To really do it effectively, you need to...

    a) Keep on top of market trends and know what the next new product everyone is going to want will be.

    b) Have very solid copywriting skills (or be able to afford a solid copywriter)

    c) Either pay for traffic, or spend half your time posting in forums to get a paltry few clicks on your links.

Either way, it's a lot of effort (or money) for the relatively minor commissions you'll get out of it.

The reason that Gurus push affiliate marketing instead of other, more effective ways of making money online, is because they often have offers that they want affiliates for. Just think about it. Even if all of some guru's affiliates are only making $100 a month each, that's still $50,000 a month for the guru, if he has 100 affiliates and is paying them all 50% commissions.

The truth is, affiliate marketing is actually one of the worst ways to make money online.

If you want to make money online, you're much better off creating a product of your own or selling a service. I've always said the #1 easiest way to make money online is to sell a service on Fiverr.

I feel your pain. My first sell came from solo ads. My advice to you would be to research a irresistible offer and find a rely solo ad provider (through testing small amount of $). Once you find those to elements; just rinse and repeat. Build your list and keep you subscribers engaged. I found this technique to be the most profitable for me. Best a luck on your journey!

I have created a tool for users that deal with Amazon's affiliate program. You will need followers, however. You can check out my tool and maybe see where it will take you?

On my site users create groups of related products to create a set. IE, all the clothes to make a Fall outfit or all the accessories to go with a new phone you just bought. When you create an account you can add your Amazon ID so that all your sets will forward users to Amazon and you will get credited for anything they purchase. Furthermore, we are finishing up our embed feature which will allow you to embed a set into your social posts. Simply post a set you made on my website and more than likely your followers will click on it and get forwarded to Amazon. Whatever they buy on Amazon in the next 24 hours of clicking on the link, you get a commission ranging from 4-8%. I am simply offering this service in the hope that I will get traffic to my site. The tool is free to you and I hope you can make money using it!

mdly.co - Medley is the name of my site.

        Hope this helped!

You could be promoting affiliate products the wrong way. For instance, some places don't want affiliate links used there. So if you are ignoring that, you may have ghosted ads (ie ads that no one is seeing but you).

And some affiliate programs shut down or change what they sell, once they are set up, so your links may be leading people to the wrong places, to error pages or to inappropriate products now.

And some PPC activity is just worthless and useless. Facebook ads don't always prove useful, for example. Sure they may generate activity, but who shops there and for what? If what you are selling is not what people are shopping for there, it's a waste of ad money.

And list building has its own issue. Are you using autoresponders that even get emails into in-boxes? Or you also using print postcards or paid classified ads? Are you testing your own ads - do your links work? Phone numbers work? Email addresses work?

Just some things to note. Affiliate marketing is like a moving target. Keep your eye on what you are promoting, where, how and to what type of audience (i.e. how do they responde best- in print, via text messages, via email, via phone or mailing a reply card, etc.)?

The best thing to do when you get frustrated is to create more content or find blogs and forums and join in the discussions, just make sure you add value and don't do it because of SEO. Yeah I'm with Jenna on this. It's not much more complicated than what she said.

Just focus on one niche and a group of products you've determined are something they would buy or have bought. Then put those products in front of them with various methods (I prefer paid) to see which ones convert.

      Some will, some won't.

When you find the ones that do, scale up your marketing so you can put the converting products in front of as many people in your niche as possible.

Paid traffic allows you to find out what works very fast and scale up massively.

    Hi vox:
Most methods require hard work, that is what they require. However, I will give you a tip that is obvious and easy. Find a niche that is narrow. That means little competition for you.

It is a lot easier to be a big fish in a small pond than a tiny minnow in our enormous ocean. Basically, minnows get eaten up. What does this mean. Forget about trying to dominate the big niche as you will end up as fish food or worse. Concentrate all you efforts on a small niche that you know well and you can become the authority people go to.

Think of the little fish in the big blue sea. He is going to get eaten up. Best strategy is to find a river. Then you swim upstream away from the crowds and masses. Find a small stream of the internet that you can make your very own.

In my humble opinion you just need to give people what they want free mouth watering content. And you can get that anywhere, have a look at youtube guys. Start a drip feed membership using an autoresponder and give away amazing content you can find anywhere online.

Get paid for your research skill by offering the affiliate programs say *under the video's for example.

If you do this the best thing you can do is study persuasion techniques which you can also find freely online.

After awhile you have a monthly income on the front end (HINT ALSO ADD A BACKEND) and then do your affiliate selling in between.

    No brainer.

Here's a simple formula that won't necessarily make you rich overnight, but it will work.

Step 1 -- pick a hot product that A) has a lot of people looking to buy it, B) is evergreen and not just a one week launch, and C) pays decent commissions.

Step 2 -- write a review of such product (or sum up other reviews out there to help save them time) that's honest and not just looking to make a quick buck. Give the pros and the cons and an obvious call to action at the end (tell them what to do and make the link easy to click).

Step 3 -- Post that review on a blog, website, or video site (if you want to make it a video) and make sure that the title of the post is keyword rich and targeting review type keywords that aren't super competitive but still get searched.

Step 4 -- Rinse and repeat

It is not about trying too many things which will make you money. It is all about sticking to one thing and master it, and then try one more.

For ex, in PPC to make real money. You can try doing this with mobile ppc since cpc is quite cheap.
    1. Test 50+ offers with $5 budget
    2. Select 10-20 offers which have converted
    3. Shortlist again based on which one is converting well (maybe 5)
    4. Focus on these 5 and test, test, test - you would find atleast
    one or two gold mines.
    5. Scale this with multiple ppc networks.

If you do it well, easily you can earn 1:3 - 1:5

Hope this helps, let me know if you need any more suggestions

Once you overcome #1 then quickly analyzing, testing, tracking, improving etc and just getting optimal till it works or doesn't and understanding what is true and what's not is critical to your success. Why do you think 99% of people where make less then $1 online (ever)?

      Hello Million Dollar Idea Man,

Please accept my reply to you as being kind, wanting to help you.

But if you have made less than $1 in 15 years online, you are not qualified to build any software that could help others in IM.

There is so much software available and from brilliant programmers who understand and are involved in Internet Marketing. We own a small software company ourselves but we don't write the software, we funded two young American programmers so we get the UK and EU rights to each software under our own branding.

An idea for you though, and back to Affiliate Marketing. Start working on building a list of Internet Marketers, and again use a website and newsletter. Sign up as an Affiliate to various software programs, like Social Lead Freak if they have an Affiliate Program, then promote to your list. The fact is that many people who are involved in IM do not and can not keep up with what is available to them as far as software is concerned.

Even with WSO's there are people who sign up as affiliates and promote good offers to their lists, because most on their lists would not know about all the WSO's being released or on offer.

Being an Affiliate and selling someone else's creation for a commission is much easier than trying to create then market something yourself.

I think it's time for people to start accepting the fact that $18,250 of revenue per year is a substantial sum of cash for inexperienced people to earn. It will take a lot of skill refinement to get there.

      Hello Voxbrethren,

I see many people have replied to your post, and a lot giving good advice too. Some others in the same position as you, not making money from IM yet.

We all have to start from nothing, my first year in IM I made only $408 profit for my whole year, selling resale rights ebooks in ebay. Then I found a mentor, he actually didn't want to mentor me, he said he didn't have time, but he would have 2 chats with me. But I wore him down till he agreed to mentor me, and in the end he has become my adopted Dad, and in ten years we have built multi millions dollar IM Business's together. I'll try to give you some advice and also a couple of solid examples of different thinking.

The Foundation - First of all you need to treat your IM Business as a real Business, you need to work on it every day. You most likely have to work for someone else for 8 hours a day, so you need to be willing to come home and put in a few hours of work for yourself each day too. Forget watching TV or any other time wasting activity that you do, put that time into your Business. And not just every now and then, treat it like going to work for yourself, 3 or 4 hours per night every night, including weekends if your really serious. You have to be a tough Boss, otherwise your sole employee - YOU - will try to slack off, and you will never get free of your JOB, or make any worthwhile additional income.

Education/Training - you must spend part of your time EVERY NIGHT on your education, learning more about IM from ebooks and courses. Your in IM Kindergarten at the start, you have to graduate IM University, and it's up to you to do that. You have to invest both some time and some money for your education, but there is a huge amount of free ebook downloads etc on the internet. When my Dad started mentoring me he made me read 4 ebooks per week. That's 200 ebooks in just one year, do you think you would be learning something from doing the same? And you keep on doing it, as soon as you think you know everything that's the exact time you know nothing! You can also read Positive Motivational books too, to keep yourself motivated and on track towards your goals.

Thinking - My Dad and I both have the word - Think - printed out in red and up on our whiteboards where we see it hundreds of times a day. It's about learning to think in a different way to others, like out of the box thinking. I'll give you an example of thinking differently:

We create what we call RoadMaps.

So say we make our first big goal (our Destination) to earn $50,000 per year. That's a nice amount, a lot could replace their Job income with that or it certainly would make a difference in most people's lives.

So $50,000 sound a lot right, but what if we say we will create 10 different Business's (or income streams) to earn that much.

Now each Business only has to earn $5000 per year to create that income. If we break that down again, that's only $100 a week or $14.28 per day over a 7 day week.

To earn just $14.28 a day sounds much easier than to earn $50,000, right? But if we build 10 small Business's that just earn $14.28 a day, we now have our $50,000 a year. Then we up our goal, set our sites higher, say to $100,000 a year. And hey, we only have to earn $28.56 a day from each of our 10 business's to earn that.

So that's just an example of thinking differently about making $50,000 a year. It sounds a big goal in itself, but if we break it down by thinking differently it doesn't sound so hard in smaller chunks.

You said: "How The Hell Do I Make Money With Affiliate Marketing??? I'v tried everything!!!" Well I bet you just havn't, because you have just used normal thinking.

Plus you said you have tried PPC, PPV, FB, Blogs, SEO. But you most likely havn't learned enough yet about these things, some you need a fair bit of experience and knowledge to use them effectively.

So I'll give you a couple of examples that you can use as brain food to come up with your own ideas.

When my Dad and I started building our Business's, we actually started with Affiliate Marketing. (We still do it but now its only a small part of our operations, but still gives us $8K to10K commissions per week) He taught me it was easier to sell to a warm or hot market than a cold market. What that means is that it is easier to sell someone something they are already interested in. So you build niche related Lists to market to, rather than using PPC etc.

So my example here is in Music/Musicians niche, one of the first Lists I build, as I'v been involved in music since I was at high school, I sing, I play lead electric guitar and I'v always had my own Bands, still do just for fun.

So I created a monthly email Music Newsletter to send out to my list, something to keep them engaged and interested in hearing from me, and where I could add my own affiliate promotions for anything I thought they might be interested in. And that didn't have to be just affiliate promotions relating to music, it could be anything that my list members would be interested in. For example many of my original list members were from UK (where I live) so one very successful affiliate promotion was for high end sunglass's from America, they were available in UK retail stores but very high priced. I build a list of around 7,400 singers and Band Members, no one big, mainly just local type Singers/Bands who received the Monthly Newsletter. Each newsletter had about 6 to 8 Affiliate offers in it and would return a flood of Affiliate Commissions per issue, in the thousands of dollars per month.

When my Daughter Sherri turned 14 her GrandDad encouraged her to start her own Internet Business's, I have since given her that Music List and they have expanded on my original idea. She has now added a simple website to it that incorporates 6 Amazon Music Stores selling al types of music equipment that Singers and Bands would be interested in, also a Poster Shop and a ClickBank product for Musicians, as well as an MP3 song download affiliate site. These 7 stores would have well over 200,000 individual products in them, so every issue of her Newsletter now features an Ad for her website offering more than 200,000 items in the stores alone. So do you think she gets some Affiliate Sales? The Music List is really a HOT target market of people who are absolutely interested in what she's selling in the stores. She has built the list to over 10,000 now and still includes other offers as well, including things like the sunglass's etc.

Now Sherri has the advantage of being mentored by myself and my Dad, her GrandDad now, but she's not even 17 yet, has 4 IM Business's, the other 3 from her own idea's and a total income of nearly US$200,000 a year. If you would like to look at how this website is made up its at: jammusicsearch (com)

Come up with your own similar ideas for other markets, Amazon alone has products ranging over hundreds upon hundreds of niche markets.

I'll use a 2nd example of one of Sherri's Business's, this one is her smallest but still produces a very nice monthly income for her, and from her own idea. This one is not Affiliate Marketing, just an example of her thinking differently, like we have taught her to.

A large part of our main Business's now is providing services to Offline Business's, and again we use email lists and Newsletters to keep in contact with our Customers and potential Customers. John and I were writing a Newsletter and our feature story was about QR Codes and how Business's could use them, we provided a link to a Free QR Code Builder.

Sherri read the Newsletter before it was sent out, went to the site and made her own QR Code in about 2 minutes flat. Came back to me and told me she wanted to start a Business making QR Codes, so would we take out the link to the Free QR Code builder and put her advertisement for her paid service in there instead. We thought absolutely brilliant for a 16 year old to straight away see a possibility for a Business, costing her nothing except a few minutes of her time to make them and email them to her customers. She priced her service at twenty pounds per package, she would make as much or more per week as an average adult's wage in UK. Now sure she had the advantage here of a way to promote her Business idea via our existing newsletter, but her idea was really brilliant, John and I didn't even think of it for ourselves, but Sherri's thinking was most Business's wouldn't know they could make them for free if we didn't tell them, so here was an opportunity!

I'll just give one more example of how using different thinking could turn an Affiliate promotion into a weekly income of $100 or way more. Now for this one you have to take the time to learn how to design simple 3 page websites. You can get a free website builder from an English company called Serif (com) Look in their Free Downloads for WebPlus Starter Edition. It's full featured just really an older edition, we use WebPlus ourselves and its a very easy program to use and to learn.

So the idea, any of the larger US Hosting companies like HostGator for instance but many more, have Affiliate Programs and offer $100 to $125 Commission (depending on how many signups you get per month) The Customer still only has to pay about $8.25 a month for their Hosting. Now don't try to rort the system, they have checks in place to prevent fraud transactions.

Now the idea, instead of trying to sell Hosting accounts you use Different Thinking again. (make yourself your own THINK sign to put on your wall. lol) So look for small Business's in your community that don't have a website, offer to design them one for free, a starter 3 page website (Home Page, Information Page, Contact Page) Your only requirement, they have to register their Domain Name (You become a Godaddy Affiliate and give them your link, so you make a little bit of Affiliate income from that too) and they have to sign up for Hosting via your Hostgator Affiliate Link. You could even tell them your learning web design and want to start a Web Design Business and want to build up a portfolio, that's the reason you will design a small website for them free, you just want to build up a portfolio and some testimonials. Now later you could offer to enlarge on their website if they wanted that and actually charge them for the extra work, but first of all do it like I say.

So, do you think you could give something away for free and make $100 or more every time you do? Of course you can if your prepared to put a little bit of effort into learning something new, how to make nice little 3 page websites, and if your willing to get off your bum and go out and get some customers for yourself.

      Hope my advice helps.

This is one of the better posts that I've seen recently. Two key things to take away from it....

It's all about developing different income streams. Lindy has shared some actionable ideas that you can develop....as well as develop your own twists.

It's not always about hitting home runs. You can see success quickly with many approaches. This type of validation does wonders for you as you quickly are able to double up on the winning approaches and cut short the losing ones.

Something else to think about. The fastest way to make money is with a service. Anthony Tilley suggested that to me in a phone conversation.

Here's an example of an excellent service idea. Personally, I've downloaded the software, I'm working through the youtube tutorials and I'll use the skill for my own sites. I may also put it out there because there appears to be a huge demand for this...

    Scribble Videos.

Not that simple.... I would suggest a niche: traffic or make money on line
Buy solo ads to build your list. Give them a report to opt in to you.
Then I would suggest you develop your warrior presence by posting, thanks and reading how to gain visibility here.....reason you ask? You will be denied to mail unless you understand who the leaders are and have a list

You find a demanding market, you find offers related to your market, and you provide them with value and solutions. But it's going to take ACTION and DETERMINATION and FAITH that you will succeed.

Your problem might be due to the fact that you keep on hopping from one method to another. Why not try to stick with a single method? For sure, you will surely achieve the result that you want to reach in the near future. Just be patient and stick with a single approach.

  • Hi,

One thing you don't say is you've tried is building a mailing list targeted to whatever niche you are in? Building a responsive mailing list and forming a strong relationship with them always comes before selling and why most people who don't do this make little or no money. The money really is in the list.

Give them a free yet valuable gift to get them to sign up on a squeeze page which you drive traffic to using free, and if you have the funds, paid for traffic? Doing paid for traffic gets faster results but carries greater risk if not done right and the list is not usually as responsive as free traffic subscribers because about 3 times more people click on organic lists then the sponsored pay per click adds.

If you need to know more we are always ready to help.

    Regards,

    Stephen & Jennifer.

      Hello Stephen and Jennifer,

Nice to see other Pommy's in here giving advice too. My Dad is an Australian and he calls me a Pommy, since he luv's me it's obviously an endearing term. lol.

Thought I would just expand on my post, and something you mentioned too, re building targeted niche lists.

When I first started to built the Music List that I mentioned I used fairly old fashioned ways, like small classified ads in music magazines and so on.

Now with FaceBook it is really easy to build targeted niche lists. You create a FanPage for your niche subject and you attract your target audience to it, and sign them up to your newsletter. You will find numerous groups interested in just about any subject going in FaceBook, so already a HOT target market there and waiting for you.

An easy way of doing this is with a software called Social Lead Freak. It does cost just under $100 but very well worth that cost. You could just watch the videos about it and also do the same manually if you can't afford that cost.

Another way to build a niche list is to look for forums or blogs related to your subject where you are able to make some useful posts and offer a free subscription to your newsletter. But way slower than using FaceBook.

There are sooo many ways to make money online its silly! That's the problem! You will hear 20 guys say 20 different ways. The thing is pick one idea/business model that sounds interesting and stick with it! Don't get upset 30 days later and move on to the next business model. You will NEVER SUCCEED if you do this. My suggestion is find a coach! A mentor if you will. By the time you learn a business model, marketing strategies, software development, design, blah blah blah you will be 1 year out and barely making any money. That is unless you luck out and pick the right business model that fits you.

Theres so much to choose from... Information product creation, PLR/MRR marketing opportunities, Affiliate marketing opportunities, CPA stuff, Free reports, memberships, the list goes on and on and on.

Each of these requires special skills... Some more than others. That's why affiliate marketing/CPA is so popular because you don't have to create the product, you simply direct traffic and make profits. BUT, you need to seriously know traffic techniques and SEO, PPC, and other traffic getting ways to become successful, even writing skills.... Hence my suggestion on finding a coach.

    1) Educate yourself here on Warrior Forum, find knowledgeable people and PM them for advice or direction on who to talk with.

    2) Post on Warrior that you are interested in someone to coach you, maybe get you to $500 a month to start out. Something like that. After that it's smooth sailing!

Just remember most people take a trip to our virtual world because they "hear" it's an easy way to make money. It is not! The majority will quit in a few short months.
P.S. Many of the people here on Warrior are great people and won't steer you wrong. It's just they all have their own way to get from point A to point B. Pick one that interests you and don't lose focus!

Hope this helps out - Pete

Get some PLR products and create two products of your own. It is very simple to do... There are great PLR products out there. You can get them for very cheap... $2 or even less if you have a good membership PLR site.

Get some of the PLR products and test the methods out. See if you find areas you can improve on. Then set up some squeeze pages. When someone opts-in they are presented with your sales page. With the right networking, and promotion you can be at $25 to $50 per day pretty easy...

After you get your feet wet with some small success, then move on to more custom products. You will always be building your list, and then you can send affiliate offers as you build trust and recognition with your list.

You should definitely hire a good coach... Many say they are broke and can't afford a coach, but I say - You really can't afford NOT to hire a coach...

    Good luck!

God does it really suck to be a newbie.

I remember when I first came to this forum.... the real problem is there is way too much information. Way too many people, way too many methods, way too many niches, way too many different perspectives, way too much advice.

The hardest part about making money online, is developing a clear, laser like focus.

You need to turn your brain into a filter.

Learn how to immediately filter out crap you're not interested in. I saw all these things people were doing, ppc, cpa, clickbank, affiliate marketing, list building, email marketing, youtube, websites, seo, fiver, etc etc.

Fiver was one of the first things I scratched off the list. No way in hell am I doing any type of work for $5. Even if its just scratching my balls, my time is more valuable than that.

So I personally went with what I felt most comfortable with. Since my dad spent his entire life building homes, and my brother is a contractor... I thought "hey, maybe I should get into local lead generation?"

Then I dove in head first, and blocked out EVERYTHING ELSE.

For 3 months straight I worked on 1 site. I logged into wordpress, opened up photoshop and got to work. Day after day. Then I found a guy to do SEO on the site. Then eventually it started producing calls. A couple months later my brothers phone was ringing off the hook. Before I knew it I was getting thousands of dollars in commissions every month.

And till this day, local lead gen is my main source of income. I can't tell you how good it feels to get a call from my brother, or his business friends I work for now, asking me "do you know how many calls I got today?!" These people were struggling day to day trying to survive... and getting leads was always a major issue. So I basically keep their lives stable and consistent, and in return they give me very generous commissions on the jobs they sell.

Now with the money I've been getting from local lead gen, I've been investing in more passive streams of income. I've bought SEO software, I rank videos on YT and send traffic to CB vendors. I've managed to work my way up to an additional $1k - $1.5k / month.

So I average around $6k / month from my local sites, then my CB earnings puts me up to around $7k - $8k / month (roughly).

The most ironic part about this? I still consider myself a newbie marketer. I cringe at words like "list building" or "ppc". I've never done a press release in my life. I don't send out newsletters or do any mass emailing. All I do is forward phone calls from my local sites, and forward traffic from my YT videos to CB vendors.

With all that said, I am STILL overwhelmed anytime I come onto forums. Because I see so many different people doing so many different things.

And whats ironic, the longer I've been in marketing, the less and less time I find myself on forums. Forums make me anxious. They're a massive distraction. I find myself making long ass posts like this, wasting time responding to pms, or trolling people cause I'm bored. =]

What I would recommend is you need to figure out what skills you have, and what skills you don't have. I'm not a tech savvy person. But I'm somewhat of an artist. So I can make nice sites. I know how to use photoshop and do great designs. I can also identify good copy when I see it. So I'm good at swiping copy and rehashing it for my own niches.

I can also rank YT videos but overall I suck at SEO. Ranking YT videos is nothing like ranking a site. So all my website SEO gets outsourced. That is something that will never change. The most SEO I'll ever do is turn on GSA and spam videos to the top of google. But if I need to rank a site, I will not build 1 backlink.

So over the years I've come to realize there are things I'm good at, things I like doing, and things I'm afraid of, things that make me anxious. This kind of puts me in the position of a "delegator". I delegate work. And honestly, I think any great marketer needs to be a delegator.

You have to form a business plan. A very specific one from beginning to end. And if its your first plan, don't reinvent any wheels. Don't get creative. Do something that you KNOW will work. After that, start to delegate work. Do all the things you are capable of (and learn as you go along), then delegate or outsource all the things your bad at.

Its really that simple. Marketing in its simplest form is 2 concepts that will NEVER change.

    1) You have an offer, whether its on a site, or in a video, etc etc.
    2) You need to drive targeted traffic to that offer.

In the end, if you get those 2 things right, that is ALL you really need to do.

Finally, do NOT be afraid to have confidence in yourself. Because the main thing I got involved in (local lead gen) wasn't something that was talked about much on forums. And now when I read WSOs, or posts about local lead gen I think "wow... these mfkrs really don't know shit about local marketing".

The reality is, thats not true. Its just really hard to teach people certain things online. Almost impossible I might say. All the things I've learned over the last couple years... you can't write in a book. You can't write on a forum. You can't explain in a video. The ONLY WAY you can learn these things, is by applying them. I can give you 100 pages of advice. Then you apply that advice, and it turns into 10,000 pages of variables.

This is why, you absolutely NEED to just take action. Block out all the noise, sit down, and focus on 1 thing. Don't focus on the outcome. Focus on the process. Once you perfect the process, the outcome won't matter anymore. Because shit can happen. Shit WILL happen. But when you understand the process, how all the wheels spin together, you can replicate it over and over. Like a car breaking down. If you know how to rebuild a car, then it doesn't matter if you drive it off a bridge. It doesn't matter if you sell the car for $100,000. Cause you can just build a new one, over and over. I can't really emphasize this concept enough. >>>> NEVER be outcome dependent, but ALWAYS be dependent on the process. The process is ALWAYS more valuable than the outcome.

Anyway, let me shut up. You've had enough information overload for 1 day.

    -RS

Display ("media buying") is safe bet than PPC, imo. Higher barrier to entry and more risky start up cost, but the payout is higher and it's easier to keep the ball rolling than with PPC (most people would disagree).

Set aside $500 or $1000, do your research, and start with direct buys.

Ya it sounds like you are trying too many things... If you have tried everything that just means you have not mastered anything...

Master something... If people are making money using PPC, then it works... You just have to master it... If it doesn't work, figure out what you are doing wrong and fix it... Same with any strategy...

I tried Youtube for quite some time and lost $100 on PPC. So, I just returned to Youtube like a dog returns to it's gastric waste a couple hours after getting sick. Youtube works well for me. I said, forget PPC for now, worry instead about Youtube. You have a helluva more experience in Youtube than dipping my toes into the frozen waters and deep as sin pool of PPC. Go back to where you are learning to swim and do not bite off any more than you can chew ATM. I went back to where I started and it is slowly but surely gaining traction. Just learned a new swimming stroke in this: Using ping sites AND Backlink sites.

I will be honest, I didn't read the entire thread, it's 3 am for me, I have other things to do, but I will throw in here firstly, I agree with the premise "don't jump from plan to plan" "don't jump from method to method" But I didn't see anyone mention this in the posts I did see (and I'm not saying someone didn't touch this))

But don't expect affiliate marketing to become a $0 a month to a $2,000 a month 'sudden income' Affiliate marketing either operates on a one-off "all of a sudden I made a lot" or a slow but semi-steady "I made a few dollars more this month than last."

If someone sold you on a bunch of hype that you'd post 15 links and make $20,000 they lied. I'm sorry, it happens, but no. If you want a long term income, it takes time to build.

(I'm running a 102 fever so I should just be asleep)

But I've made as much as $420 in a given month on pure, residual affiliate marketing work. It's not a fortune, but since I haven't touched those pages or links in at least 16 months, and still can get up to $280 off of them. It's worth it, if you can get the right links.

One page that took me 25 minutes to build, and about 8 hours of promotion over a year, has produced for me approximately $2700 total. It was well worth it, even though it too 18 months to reach that level of productivity

I don't push them much, I really should, but I don't, because I'm always working on my current project. Maybe through a 5 minute "hey, don't forget" kind of mention to the appropriate lists.

If you want to earn online than you have to sell, if you want to sell, you need customers, customers are someone you have in your opt-in list or social groups. Thinking of a visitor coming to your site just once and purchasing will only create frustration. Try lead generation, you can generate sales from your optin's multiple of times.

Just like China Newz said, you must work hard.

YOU CAN'T GET SOMETHING IF YOU DON'T GIVE ANYTHING.
It means that you need to invest money, time, energy and you need to eliminate everything that keeps you away from doing right things in proper way.
You can be successful if you do this and if you have a predetermined plan.

Another thing, you can't just jumping around from one thing to another...
It's like you start to read one book, and then, when you are at the page 21, you suddenly stop and choose another book and you are doing the same process again and again...
The result: Neither you know (almost) anything about those books nor the ESSENCE of each book itself!

Be patient and work hard and your efforts will pay of eventually (like Cobaki said).

As a everybody else has said, they all work and work really well. The half of the formula that people don't tell you is that it requires some real grit and muscle to get any of the methods working. The goal is to simply pound away on a single track until you make it work. Start small, lose small, test, optimize, get things going....then scale the freak out of it. Assuming that you already know your market and are targeting it, I have to ask how are you promoting your affiliate programs.

Are you focusing on driving that targeted traffic to company replicated sign up pages, or are you driving them to a lead capture page. This is vital as it differentiates you from other affiliates (involved w/ the same program), and it allows you to build your list. By focusing on generating prospects that have expressed interest in your offer you give yourself the chance to "own that traffic."

Have you placed a time limit on yourself? This does NOT happen a few days. Even with some of the best affiliate programs with the best compensation plans it's unlikely that you'll break even after a few days. It takes time and active patience.

Always learn new strategies and act on them. Take what you've learned on traffic generation and always drive it to your lead capture page.

Most affiliates will usually make the bulk of their money with a few merchants. It is sometimes a matter to trying which merchants will work for you and which won't. It is very volatile as well. In August, I produced $80,000 in sales for my top merchant. Then suddenly, the conversion rate dropped by 60% a month ago and dropped further a couple of weeks ago. My sales were almost down to nothing and I lost money because I was using PPC. What seems to have happened was that the merchant made some alterations to their site that interfered with the tracking. They told me it had been fixed now but it will take weeks before I know whether things are back to normal. It is just so frustrating sometimes.

Stop focusing on making money and start focusing on doing something for someone else.

Make something cool, solve a problem, offer a service.

Any idiot can run ppc ads for an affiliate product or create a website spamming people all for the sake of making a few bucks.

PROVIDE VALUE and you will make money. Nobody makes money by wanting to make money, it's not that easy.

Go a step further and do something you like to do and translate that online

You want to give value to people who visit your site. Sincerely help people. Here's the test: will you do what you do to help people if you are not paid? If yes, then you got a winning attitude and prime for success.

Affiliate marketing is also like a business. You need to distinguish yourself from the crowd and add value to people's experience when they visit your site. Getting traffic is only one part of the jig saw puzzle.

It is hard at first but once you master it, the money will come.

or maybe...it just might be that people don't trust you. How about trying to have relationships with your demographic other than selling?

Don't buy emails because those emails will not work good for marketing.

How many of these are you trying at once?

One of my biggest mistakes starting out was that I tried to do a little piece of everything to drive traffic and make sales.

I ended up doing everything "just ok" instead of doing one thing exceptionally well.

If you have tried multiple strategies already then stop for a moment and take stock of your achievements so far.

While you might not have yet reached your money making goals, what you have done is created a goldmine of information and analytics that you can now use to set your direction.

Go back and look at the results you have achieved, even if it is just click-through-rates, then you should be able to make a comparison between the multiple strategies you have tried and at least see which one was giving you the best results.

Then, focus on this alone for a while and work out where people are dropping out of your sales funnel and fix that bit - then move on to the next until you have refined each part of your system for that one strategy.

It is so easy online to get caught up in the next great promise - but at the end of the day, hard work and focus in one single direction will most likely produce results.
